I have a Hotmail / Outlook.com account and every so often e-mails are automatically deleted from my Inbox. This does not seem to affect emails that I have transferred into folders or my Sent items. I have no "rules" set up to clean up my mail.
To anyone reading this board with Hotmail issues, I can advise that you be patient as the Microsoft folks work with you. I went around the circle of reacredditating / reactivating / proving my account details several times over the past 2 months. I was
highly frustrated because I was only getting robot responses sending me around the process of proving that `I was the owner of my 12 year old account. Very tough. and needless to say I lost many short term contracts because my account was off air.
However, I want to thank the more than 15 individual moderators, escalation agents and system analysts who were involved in my case and to whom I was extremely rude and abrupt in my approach in getting my account re-opened. I now understand that my original
hotmail address is still functional and the original data not lost nor archived, it has simply been transferred over to the new outlook format and that logging in with my hotmail details is still as it used to be. So persist, (it took me 6 weeks all up) and
keep creating your requests on the newer recommended site, not this one. IN the end it seems as if it was just a matter of someone at the appropriate level of decision making to look over the issue and work out the solution.
My approach was not everybody's style yet in my case, the only way I can understand the complexity of today's IT and get something done.

I use windows live with 4 different accounts and I also use Hotmail for a club which I belong to, but all contacts have now synced since Hotmail went over to Outlook giving other club members access to my personel contacts and of course the opposite way
round. Can anyone tell me how to stop this happening absolute nightmare and now has resulted in my privacy being invaded without my consent from what I can see. Thanks Peter
Since yesterday, I have had problems trying to get into my hotmail account.
I've tried to sign in via Outlook.com / Live / and Signin hotmail links.
When I sign in - the page is very slow to load and it freezes. I don't get an error message.
When the page *loads* its incomplete and the format/layout is messed up. I can't use it or click on it.
I am using Safari via my iMac. I have cleared my browsing cache, checked the cookies are allowed.
Safari is working for all other webpages - just not Outlook or Hotmail/ Live.
( Hotmail is still being received okay via my iPhone though but I can't work with it on my phone).
Any helpful suggestions, please? I would like to have it working again on my Mac.

I use Windows 7; Firefox and Hotmail. Over the last few days I have had the same 5 or 6 e-mails popping up regularly ( every 10 minutes or so) in my sent box. I have deleted the originals ( they were quite old) and all of the rogues, but they keep returning.
The only new thing is I have a new phone, a Galaxy III. I can receive and send e-mails no problem but my sent box is full of theses repeats.As far as I know they are not actually being received by anyone as noone has complained to me. I do not use any other
operating system for e-mail; I sign in using my hotmail details.

I wanted to log in to one of my email accounts that I use specifically for my iTunes account, but it has been some time since I've actually logged in and I forgot the password.
Naturally I then attempted to reset my password through Hotmail's reset function, but it keeps telling me that my Microsoft account is invalid. I know this account exists because it is currently connected to my iTunes Apple account, and I can make purchases
with this account without any problems, however Hotmail seems to think the email address doesn't exist or isn't proper for some reason.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

Would someone be able to tell me if the problem of migrating from hotmail to outlook when you claimed the new @outlook.com email first. I can not change/migrate all my hotmail inbox to new @outlook.com. I believe this was a known issue, has it been sorted?
