How to Request Harecopy of My Own Account’s Details

24. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: account details, DOB, Hotmail email
Hello!

I've had a Hotmail email account for many years and my profile has my name, address, photo, DOB, etc. Right now, I need a document that shows the email address is registered to me. How do I request a hardcopy of my account details from Microsoft?

Obviously, for someone else's account, this would have to be done through a legal request but what are the steps for requesting my own account information and is there a way to expedite this request (don't mind paying a fee)?

Thank you!
SY.

Outlook.com

I have an old hotmail email account.

Microsoft sent a message stating I was required to verify the password in order to transition to Outlook.com

After verifying the password, I go to www.outlook.com and log in successfully.

However, all my email messages now display in a foriegn language that I cannot read.

The foreign language appears only in Outlook.com and no other application.

The email username is: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

The password is: ***** (I will change this when the issue has been resolved)

Log in and you will see for yourself.

I need instructions on how to change the language to English.

Please email the instructions to an alternate email account as I cannot read the emails in this account.

Delete greyed out for Hotmail email on iPad

21. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: default mail, Hotmail email, hotmail emails, ipad
Recently, I have noticed I can no longer delete hotmail emails from the default mail app on my iPad. Through google searches I have gone into settings and selected the option under POP email that says to let the mobile device tell the account to delete. I thought maybe this was a new option as I have always been able to delete before. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem.

Then I read suggestions of changing the amount of time to sync (sync one week of email then change it to sync two weeks etc.). This did not work either.
I then completely deleted the hotmail account from my iPad and reset it up under outlook exchange again and it Still doesn't work. When I select a mail message, the delete trash can icon is greyed out. My other accounts sync and delete just fine. This is the only account. Ahhhh!
Please help, thank you!

Can’t attach files in outlook.com

17. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Hotmail email, microsoft, Silverlight

My OS:

Win XP SP3

IE v 8.0.6001.18702IC

Silverlight v 5.1.20513.0

I have migrated from hotmail to outlook.com and am at the point ditching my hotmail email address and moving to google mail. I cannot believe that Microsoft has so irresponsibly launched a new email service that is so riddled with problems, doesn't even allow attaching files and seems to have conflicts with other components of the MS suite of applications!!

And this issue seems to have been dragging on for months and months! Unforgivable.

My problem is as follows:

  • I create a new email
  • I click on the "Insert" button
  • I click on "Files as Attachments"
  • I select a file to attach
  • If it's a tiny file (eg. a 32kb .txt notepad document or a 172kb .jpg image file), it will immediately attach, no problem
  • But if it's anything like a 1.3mb pdf doc or larger, the blue status bar moves all the way across the icon that repesents the document, but it never completes. The uploaded status remains as "Uploaded 0 of 1"
  • If it's an even bigger document, eg. an 8mb zip file, the blue bar never even appears. I just see the green status segment bar in the status bar of IE bottom of screen, growing until complete, but again the job never completes.

And yes, I've already tried:

  • uninstalling and re-installing Silverlight
  • re-setting IE back to its virginal install state
  • etc

I am seriously, very unhappy.

MS is about to lose a 15 year hotmail customer!

Waiting Period

16. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Hotmail Account, Hotmail email, Waiting period

Ok..here we go again. Same issue as others when updating this Security stuff. So here I am trying to help another Hotmail Account user...why? Because in order to get support for your problem, you have to sign in with your Hotmail account. Well, thats wonderful unless the problem is with your Hotmail email. So how is this user supposed to request support from MS if your Hotmail is the very account she cannot access. Just going around in circles.

So she updated her security info....so now we have a 30 day waiting period.  Microsoft, you CANNOT be serious. So she has no access to email for 30 days. Wow......really...and yet your a Company that seems to wrap an email address around everything you do, making EMAIL THE MOST IMPORTANT INTEGRATED PART OF THE PUZZLE, and if that person EVER has an email issue, seems like the whole world will blow up in ones face.

She has tried repeatedly to sign in and is always faced with:

"We have a waiting period for the updates to take effect. Come back at (30 days from now) Xmas and maybe we'll let you log in. Once this is deleted, you'll have to go through this whole process again with info you have access to"

hahahah, sure and then what...wait another 30 days??

So she is going to be without emauil for 60 days.....minimum??

Not sure if you could have sent her a bigger invetation to join an alternate online email provider. Having to wait 30 days to get into email is by far the most insane thing I have ever heard.

Can you tell Steve he won't have email for 30 days too....Just wanna see the look on his face. Tell him your doing some minor updates which shouldn't take to long.

What A Joke......

hotmail email problem with fonts and spacing

16. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Hotmail email, SAFARI browser
Hi - When I send emails on my hotmail account (from either a Firefox or Safari browser) - the email as it is received by the recipient looks very distorted. The font and font-size changes from word to word or sentence to sentence, and there is extra spacing between paragraphs. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to fix this?

Some emails to my Hotmail address not arriving into iPhone 4S inbox

13. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: hotmail, Hotmail email, iPhone, OUTLOOK inbox
Hi there guys

I hope you can help me out - I have a bizarre tech issue that has caused me to miss quite a lot of work in the past weeks:

Not all the emails that people send to my hotmail email address are making it to my iPhone inbox. When I access my Hotmail via the Internet, I often see emails there that have not appeared in my iPhone inbox - yet other emails still arrive perfectly normally. Sometimes this also happens with Outlook 2010 - ie I can't see some emails in the Outlook inbox, whereas if I access it via Hotmail.com then I can see new mail

Please help me - it seems like you guys are the gurus who could help sort this out!

Many thanks in advance,
Joff
