Just started using Mac Mini and managed to set up same email account as previously used. Downloaded all data onto external hard drive before changing and have now exported it to Mac but I can't find old emails or the old email folder structure. Any ideas?

Hi.  My mail account has loads of nested folders so I can't always remember where they are.

I've gone to outlook.com (which automatically un-nests them) and used ctrl+F to find them on the screen.  Then I scroll up a bit and see where they are in the folder structure.

However, when I go over to WLM, those folders are not there.

This wouldn't be that odd (I'd just imagine they were missing), but if I search in WLM (ctrl+shift+F) for a certain mail or contact within that folder, their mails show up.

I can even open up those emails in WLM... even though I can't find the folder anywhere.

What's going on?

I've spend nearly two hours on this and it's really not that good a use of my time.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi,

I use outlook to view three email accounts - two IMAP and one POP.  I changed the folder structure on my computer thinking that it would update on the other computers, but some folders appear and some don't!   Some just disappeared all together.   Also the emails are very slow to appear in the inbox - especially for the POP account.

How do I rectify this situation.

Regards,

Kim Russell

About a month ago, our Hotmail mailbox encountered some type of glitch. In the process of deleting deleted messages, somehow all the messages in all the folders were deleted. The folder structure stayed in tact, but all the messages were deleted. I contacted Microsoft, searched, and have been unable to find anywhere to request a mailbox restore. Any advice, suggestions, or solutions would be greatly appreciated, as a lot of important information was deleted. Thank you.
I have the largest SkyDrive Package with a total of 127GB.  I have my moved my default "Documents" folder to the SkyDrive on two computers, Work PC and Home PC (Using the Location Tab found in folder properties.  This way my documents are synced between both computers and are available to me wherever I may be.  I love this solution as it has been very convenient to me in many situations.  However I have recently filled up my SkyDrive storage even though I have the maximum size available 7GB free + 20GB with office 365 + 100GB subscription.   I really don't want to have to take folders out of my "Documents" and move them elsewhere because I have a very nice folder structure that makes perfect sense to me, but I would rather have the ability to log into SkyDrive and tell it to "Not Sync" or "Ignore" certain folders that I don't necessary need to have available everywhere and that use up a large amount of my storage.  The option seems as though it would be very useful to many people and would give them much more control over their files and SkyDrive storage.  How would I go about making this a "Feature Request" that might get taken into consideration?  Is there any work-arounds that anyone knows of that might work for me without messing up my folder structure?  (I am very picky or neat with my folder structure)
I am a Sympatico.ca customer who was using MSN to manage my email until the service was discontinued in early August. As part of my email filing structure I had saved some emails in folders on MSN and others in folders on my computer.

Since MSN online access was discontinued, I have been using Outlook.com. With this service I have full access to the emails and folder structure that was on MSN, but I cannot find the emails that were saved in the folders on my computer. Is there a way to move them over to Outlook.com or access them through Outlook.com?

Thanks,

Bob

If I chose to "Repair" Windows Live Essentials, will the messages and folder structure of Windows Live Mail be preserved?

If I export the WinLiveMail messages will the folder structure be preserved so that I can later import both the messages and the file structure?

I upgraded Outlook yesterday.  I have Office for Mac 2011.  I lost almost all messages since last May and I also lost many folders when Outlook reverted the folder structure to a very old folder structure.  This is hundreds of emails (and a much improved folder structure).

Help!
