I can not send email messages but I can receive messages.
The following is the error message I receive:

An unknown error has occurred.

Subject 'testing'
Server Error: 504
Server Response: 504 <WindowsPC>: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname
Server: 'mail.livemail.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC66
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
I'm a new migrator from Windows to Mac.  I'm using Outlook 2011.  All of a sudden, my ability to print email messages just stopped.  I select FILE > PRINT and nothing happens (the PRINT dialogue box no longer comes up).  I've quit and restarted Outlook, restared the machine, etc. and this hasn't helped.  Has anyone else encountered this or have any suggestions?

Hello,

My electricity went out yesterday, so I had to download everything back onto my computer, including my email accounts.  After finally accomplishing that, I find that ALL my email messages have to be opened via a tab,   (like an attachment)  and this is not normal for this computer, and a pain due to having to open every single email as an attachment.

Can someone please direct me as to getting my emails via a normal delivery method.

Thanks!

I have just purchased and new computer with windows 8 and installed windows live mail. I have imported all my old email messages, accounts + contacts from my old windows live mail using windows 7. The accounts and contacts have come across perfectly but the emails have all duplicated their content.

I deleted all the folders and re installed them with the same result but with a different email content.

Can you please advise how to fix this.

Hi all,

My first post....!

I have hit a problem, seemingly out of the blue, downloading emails onto my laptop. I am using Live Mail 2012 on Win 7. My broadband provider is Orange and I have a Freeserve email address.

When I click Send / Receive, I can send messages OK, and this message appears at the bottom right of the screen -

"Connecting"

"Authenticating"

"Checking for email messages"

"No new email messages"

I have also received an error message (extract below):

Server Error: 0x800CCC90

Server Response: -ERR [IN-USE] Unable to lock maildrop: Mailbox is locked by POP server

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92:

  • My email provider does not support IMAP, so I can't reconfigure my account.
  • I have uninstalled and re-installed Windows Live Mail to no avail.
  • From my research, it seems the problem may coincide with my purchase of a new iPad Mini, with Live Mail and the same email account setup as my laptop, and have been recently downloading emails onto that device. I have tried switching my iPad off (and iPhone as well) and then tried to download emails onto the laptop, but still no success. Emails still download OK onto my phone and tablet.

Can anyone suggest any possible solutions I could try in order to get emails downloading again onto the laptop?

Many thanks....

Over the last few months, Windows Live Mail has not been downloading all email messages. It will download most of them, except for one or two. These will stay on my IMAP server along with the others (none are deleted from the server) and I can see them on webmail. They also get downloaded to my iPhone no problem. I've missed some important emails this way so now have to double-check webmail or my phone regularly to make sure Live mail hasn't neglected to download something. There is no consistency in which emails are not downloaded. It's happened from at least four different recipients, all of whom I've received emails from into Live Mail successfully, sometimes on the same day as the ones that won't download. Is there anyway to make sure Live Mail downloads everything? Thanks.
Using window 7 windows live mail and bought a new windows 8 machine. I used the export function in live mail on the windows 7 machine to export the email messages to a blank file on that machine. Then copied that file over the network to the windows 8 machine. I then used the import messages function in the live mail program and all appeared to work but the messages are nowhere to be found in the mail program. What am I missing?

Hello All,

I am getting quite desperate about my old 2011 Windows Live Mail account unable to send or receive any email messages on my laptop since 27.12.2013.

After resetting my password, which it prompted me to sign up to the Microsoft Account, I keep getting the following error messages:

* Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co account, Error ID: 0x80048821 and

*Server Error: 0x80048820

Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'.

Interestingly, or should I say luckily, my messages are coming through my smartphone who is in sync with Hotmail.co.

Also I can see my Hotmail.co (receive & send emails) in the new Outlook; call me old fashion, but I don’t like it (is not my cup of tea) – I prefer the old Windows Live Mail, hence my pledge to you all to help me please.

Kind regards

PS How ironic, even this post I cannot send it, for who knows what reasons.... just to add a bit more to my frustrations....
