HOWEVER - when I send an email now, the new display name does not show up next to the thumbnail picture that the recipient of the email sees.
Any suggestions?
I have changed my display name - so now that is what shows in upper right corner of the Outlook menu bar.
After entering my "Microsoft account summary" it will not allow me to edit my "DISPLAY NAME". I keep getting the following message.......................Ive tried submitting for support but keep getting the runaround . Thank you for any help or solution

I have an email account with hotmail. I recently changed from hotmail to outlook.com. When i registered it, I gave my name for email display name wrongly ie(DAN KM (dan@****)). Now when I try to change my display name for email from DAN KM to DAN CHETTY,
its not working. I went to profile and changed my account name. But its not taking any change while I send email to others. It still shows the same old name.
Kindly assist me on how the change the email display name.

While my name is Simi Malhotra and my email id is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***, when I send a mail, the recipients often see my display name tagged as 'Avtar Singh Malhotra', which is my father's name. Also, when anyone sends me a mail I see the displayed name to which
the mail has been sent as 'Avtar Singh Malhotra'. Though in my settings, I have reset my name as Prof Simi Malhotra, the problem continues. I have been a hotmail user for close to 15 years and this is a problem which has started only in the last 3-4 months.

My account is like *** Email address is removed for privacy *** my Display Name is like Abcde Fghij. Whenever i send an email is shows abcde.fghij rather than my display name. I hope you've understood what i am trying to say (keeping in mind privacy)..

I have an outlook account with a primary and one other alias. . 1.Can I use a different display name for each alias on emails that I send? 2. If not can I remove the display name from one alias only? 3. If not can I remove the display names all together?

There's no display name settings for android if you use exchange server in outlook and hotmail. But there is if you use pop3 or imap protocols.
Exchange works fine and fast.
In android email, it is possible to use gmail, hotmail, outlook at the same time whereas it not possible in google play outlook application to use outlook and hotmail at the same time.
Is it possible to update exchange server settings to add display name (nickname in google play outlook application) for android phones.

Hello, I have one primary Outlook.com email address and 3 aliases. Emails sent from the aliases all show the display name of the primary. This is not what I wanted. How can I change the display names of the aliases while keeping the email addresses intact?
