Please help.

My family and business rely on email.

Just today, it stopped sending or receiving, and returns incoming emails.

I paid to resubscribe to the Ad-Free option, which ran out a while ago I think, although no ads started appearing.

I read about Reinstalling Windows Live Mail, but my Windows Eight has no start button.

Also, I have thousands of saved emails and folders. Exporting them will be a dangerous nightmare I am sure.

There must be a thoughtful step by step trouble shoot for this.

Help!!!

To clarify, I never used Outlook when it was something else.  Hard to believe they used the name of another product for the email product, but I thought I would mention.

I have received an e-mail from Microsoft telling me that my subscription to Ad Free Outlook.com will be automatically renewed on 25th November 2013 and that my card will be charged £14.99. It gives a method to cancel this 'subscription' via the Outlook web site but when I sign in there is no 'subscription' link and there are no card details in 'payment options'. Questions: Do I have a subscription Do Microsoft have my card details? I called the support number and the operative was unable to find an account under either my Outlook e-mail address, my Hotmail e-mail address or my Home billing address? They said that the only way they could search further was if I gave them my FULL Credit Card number. I declined. I queried that if I don't have an account, why did I receive an e-mail telling me about the renewal? They said that they didn't know but my only course of action if I am charged is to lodge an exception with my Credit Card company! I don't think that reply is acceptable. Do Microsoft honestly not know what the **** is going on in their own business?
I had a subscription to Windows Live Hotmail Plus. The last renewal went into effect on Saturday, October 06, 2012. The renewal notice stated: "The Windows Live Hotmail Plus yearly subscription of $19.95 plus tax includes 10 Gigabytes of total Windows Live Hotmail account space and exemption from the account expiration policy. No third party advertising. Just feature tips and product info from Microsoft. Refund only available if cancelled within one month from purchase. At the end of 1 year, you will have the option to renew your subscription, or the subscription will expire. You will receive a renewal letter 30 days prior to the renewal date."

I'm not sure the extent of changes that have taken place with Hotmail / MSN / Outlook during the past year, but I received a notice today saying that my Ad Free Outlook.com was cancelled effective today! I checked my emails and there was no 30-day notice sent. I have a valid credit card on file. What is going on??
