I used Windows Live Mail for years and liked the format. When I had my computer upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10, this email disappeared. Microsoft helped me get an email program back but it is AOL and I don't like it at all, especially the commercials. Can you help me get my Windows live mail back again? Harvey

Hi all,

I'm using a Sony VAIO laptop built in late 2011 and bought in January 2012. It runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and the graphics card has always been weak but I was sure it would run Movie Maker based out of a Windows Live Essentials 2012 download. I have tried a few different copies from different download sites (running my malware scanners afterwards in case of "extras" thrown in), and even the links pointed to on this forum do the same thing: they install Photo Viewer and Movie Maker just fine, and Photo Viewer opens fine, but Movie Maker doesn't open. I keep getting an error message that Movie Maker can't start and to make sure my computer meets the minimum requirements and try to update the driver for my video card if that doesn't work. I went into my Device Manager and the display section insists my driver is the most recent one. I'm wondering if I need to roll something back or if my misadventures in getting Bluetooth to work with an adapter have done something with the drivers I didn't intend. Looking at the specs required for Movie Maker on some of the download sites and comparing them with a dxdiag readout, it looks like I have higher specs than needed to run the program, but I keep getting the error message. I'm still very much a noob, so I'm wondering if I'm looking at the wrong specs or something. If I were to post whatever specs or driver info is needed to verify, could someone let me know if my laptop just can't run Movie Maker? Thank you kindly in advance for your time, anyone who answers, I appreciate the guidance.

Hi Microsoft Comunity,all,

I have struggled with this 100% disk usage issue for more than 2 years or more (from updating my Windows 7 to Win10 in fact). I'vre tried diffrent solutions but the effect is always short and then things goes very bad again. Most of the time the most disk consuming processes are system ones. Is there really relaible solution to this problem? Please help.

Also I'm curios if Microsoft works to solve this issue generally and what is the core reason for it.

I have Windows 7 and WLM 2012. My server is IMAP.

Each year, I change the html file (saved in Notepad) stored in WLM's "signature" folder to display the current year. I now have several old html files in that signature folder.

One of my old html files is named signature2019.html. After opening it in Notepad, I changed the date from 2019 to 2020, then saved it. When I inserted signature into a compose email, it still said 2019!

When I threw the file in the trash, WLM 2012 said it couldn't find the necessary html file to insert signature. So I restored the file to the signature folder. Now when I open a new compose email, the "insert signature" button is DIMMED! I can't  click it, can't insert anything.

I started this question with one problem, now I have two!

1) Why is the "insert signature" button in a new compose email now dimmed? How can I enable it?

2) Assuming I can enable it again, how do I designate an html file in the signature folder to be the one that loads when I click "insert signature" in a compose email?

Hi All,

I’m currently trying to use the windows 10 photos app to import photos from my iphone.

- I have done this before

- Everything is connected and allowed/ trusted

- I’m doing this via USBC connection

Basically my issue is that the collection of photos i want to import are now classed as ‘old’ photos as i have already imported other photos using the same method which means the photos i want dont appear when windows searches for ‘new photos’ to import.

I have trawled through settings, forums and faqs and i cant find anything on a setting to change in order to instruct the photos app to show my older photos to import.

Help?

Thanks.

Hey

I've worked on a version of  "windows movie maker" at home, I've downloaded from the internet to my computer and it created a file with the extension "wlmp."
When I came into the office I've wanted to continue, so I went online and download what I though is the same program.

Apparently it's not. The new program creates files with the extension "mproj" and now I can't open the file I've already worked on.

What to do?

* Moved from Windows (other)/Programs
