For some reason I can't understand, Outlook (2011 for Mac, using OS X 10.8.4) will not play my sound sets, even though I've installed them properly inside the Microsoft User Data-->Outlook Sound Sets folder. In the "Notifications and Sounds" preference panel, I can click on the selected sound set (default or my custom sound set) and it will play the welcome sound. But when I click on any of the subsounds (New Message, Message Send, etc.) it will not play those. (There is a 'soundset.plist' in place inside each sound set folder.)

Screen shot here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Work for a company that got rid of several employees. Logged into their old accounts on my outlook and created .olm files. Tried to email one without looking @ file size. Since then, outlook freezes every time I open it and it gets stuck while it looks like it's attempting to send an emai. I've deleted MSO and reinstalled twice without change. I can't get into the tools to delete the specific account fast enough to get it done before the app freezes up (I get pinwheel of doom forever)
I am looking for a solution to transfer mailboxes and the emails from Ms outlook mac to apple mail, in other words how can I convert Olm file format to Mbox.

Its not like I haven't tried at all, but all the procedures i followed had drawbacks for the mails, one such is hierarchy not conserved.

So how can I transfer all my mails which are thousands in number contained in many folders, from outlook to apple mail safely.

Thank you for your support
I have a group of users that are running MAC's as well as PC's, the PC's have no problem viewing the public folders but i would say about half of the MAC users are unable to see the public folders, I myself have no issue but when other users choose public folders the subfolders and calendars do not appear.

Every user is running MAC OSX 10.8.4
and Outlook 2011 version:14.3.6

I have tried almost everything i can think of.
-removing the account and adding it back in
-new identity in the database
-rebuild the identity that exists
-And even tried the account on another profile on the machine to make sure it wasn't profile driven.

I also tried the steps in this thread: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2405496/en-us

I'm out of idea's and I was hoping someone could shed some light on my situation.

Thanks,
How do I adjust the margins in outlook 2011.  When I reply to a message my cursor is almost out of view, as it sits right on the window line.  Please help.
I have recently had a client export some email from his Outlook into an OLM file.
He seems to have checked the option to remove it from his outlook by mistake  , so no problems we go to an earlier time machine backup.
The first time we restore the email and it looks good until it syncs to the server (The 2 accounts are imap) so it says ok I haven't been synced for 5 days l am going to delete this email as it wants to sync with what is left on the server.
Stage 2 was to then go ok , restore from time machine backup and take outlook to offline mode , while in offline mode , create folders on my computer and save the email history for both accounts , the theory being that now the email is not in the imap folders it will stay once the mail sync happens. Unfortunately this does not seem to happen , even though the folders report they have 11000 items , there only seems to be a couple of hundred.
Has anyone come across this issue ?

We updated an exchange 2007 server to rollup 11 for SP3 over the weekend.   After this was done.  We have 2 macs and neither one can update their emails.

I have tried creating new profile, clearing cache, updating Office on the Mac to the latest version and nothing seems to work.

I get a meter with a message that everything is downloaded but nothing shows up in any folder.

Mailbox is not huge - maybe 2500 items in the inbox and total of around 2GB for the whole mailbox.

Works fine in Outlook on a pc.

Any thoughts?

(Moved to a separate discussion. Was posted on a discussion about categories.)

Good afternoon everyone from a novice and luddite.  OK, here is the problem;

I am running Outlook for Mac in MacOffice 2011 and also have parallels running outlook 2010 for windows.  I am trying to post appointments on my Mac version that will then synch to the Outlook 2010 and, subsequently to the microsoft exchange version that sits in our head office.  Our It support company says that it has never heard of this, but I am convinced that it worked previously.

Can anyone shed any light?
