I run 2 email accounts on Outlook 14.3.6 using OS10.7.5.  One runs perfectly, the other one has just stopped sending messages and I get the message that "the server returned the error 5.7.8 Bad username or password (Authentication failed) Your username or security settings may be incorrect".  I have checked, double checked and redouble checked all the settings and they are correct.  Can anyone advise?
I'm accessing mail over a read-only IMAP connection and Outlook keeps trying to create a Junk Email folder in the IMAP connection which is causing errors on both the workstation and the server. I've disabled Junk Mail filtering within Outlook but I'm still getting "cannot create folder" errors within Outlook. Is there another setting I'm missing?

After getting authentication errors when sending email using iCloud I deleted the account, restarted Outlook and added the iCloud account.  The iCloud account has an amber circle in the account list where it is usually green.  Also, Outlook does not send or receive mail.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA
Hello,

i have following problem, if i change the status to out of office i get "Out of Office status is temporarily unavailable because Outlook cannot connect to the server" but the status of Out of Office is changed in Office Outlook Web Access 2007 instantly on and off, so there seems to be no connection problem.

How can i deactivate/remove the whole buggy popup warning screen completely, even if i have to edit some plist on client side?

Here a few environment/system information:
Office 2011 Mac (latest updates)
Web Access 2007
Exchange 2007
Name resolution working (forward zone) between internal and external mail domains.

Please someone help me, i am thankful for any hint.

Greetings,

Alex
I am trying to find a resource (website, book) that provides available applescript commands for Outlook 2011.  Does anyone know of one?
I have had MS Office 2011 outlook setup on a MacBook Pro for over a year, connected to a Hosted exchange server.  I have 95 users connected to this hosted exchange server and all are windows, except for this one.  The connection to the server is solid, but when the MAC User sends an email it will sit in the outbox for 5-10 minutes.  This does not happen with any windows or Ipad/Iphone/Smart phone users.  This also happens at the office and home site as well.
Hi, my company is using Office 365. I am running Outlook for Mac 2011. Everyone else is running various Windows versions of Outlook.

Historically to see if someone was busy, I created a meeting notice and added them to it. I could then see their free/busy time and subject information for their meetings.

Then I learned that I could open their calendars and see their time merged with mine, so that i wouldn't have to create the meeting invite. Nice! But can't get it working.

Several people have granted me reviewer access to their calendars. When I go into Outlook for Mac, select File > Open > Calendar and search for and select the person, it appears to gain access to the person's calendar. I do not get any errors. The person's name now appears in my left-hand navigation under a heading "Shared Folders"  When I check the check box next to their name (to turn on display), nothing happens. i don't see their calendar. I had expected to see their calendar items displayed, merged with mine. I do not see any of their items at all.

If I try to add someone whose calendar i do NOT have access to, it correctly errors out with a permissions error.

Further for those calendars that I DO have access to, once I have added them as shared folders, if I create a meeting invite, add that person, and look at the scheduling assistant, their schedule is completely blank! If I remove that person from the shared folders view, and then create a new meeting invite to them, magic poof, their stuff comes back into the scheduling assistant. And yes, I believe that I am creating the meeting invite on my calendar, not theirs.

Totally confused at this point.

What level of permissions do I need to have to see their calendars in the merged view? Reviewer?

Does this functionality work as I have described my expectations? Am I doing something wrong (I hope) or does it just not work?

THANK YOU!

I recently bought I-Mac & configured emails in outlook 2011 via POP configuration. I configured my Google Apps business account with POP in Recent Mode (uservame = recent:*** Email address is removed for privacy ***). POP with recent moded is mandatory for me as i am using 3 different devices (windows desktop in office & I-Mac at home, and a BB10). Windows desktop is configured with GASMO (Google apps sync for microsoft outlook), BB10 is configured with POP mode as ISP(airtel, vodafone....etc) doesn't support BB10 as of now, and I-Mac is configured with POP in Recent mode so that i will not loose any single email.

Problem is with MAC configuration. Whenever i am sending an email from MAC, i used to get 2 copies of sent messages in my sent folder (one outlook keeps & another downloaded from Google as recent mode is activated).

Outlook 2007, 2010 has option to unselect save sent meaasages in sent folder  but i didn't find any such option in Outlook 2011(if email is configured with POP).

Kindly help.

After being able to send/receive email from my iCloud and Mobile Me accounts without issues Outlook now reports the error:

5.7.8 Bad username or password (Authentication failed).

Mail could not be sent.

Account name: "iCloud"

Error code: -17900

I searched the database and found a thread similar to mine:  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/cant-send-from-icloud-account/3aa0c490-4aca-47a4-ad3d-a556cbc96d77.

The issue in the thread fixed itself after a month.  I tried the suggestions in the thread but without success.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi,
My outlook for mac crashed this morning, I have had error messages the last few days but the problem didn't sort it's self out this morning.  I have tried to rebuild the identity but receive the following error message

idStep 1 of 5: Scanning…
Your database could not be rebuilt. [-20997]

I have taken a copy of the identity and tried to rebuild this but I receive the same error message.  Why is outlook for mac such an inferior product? I've had issues over the years with Entourage and Outlook 2008 as well.

Feeling very frustracted
