I have been using Outlook for Mac 2011 for quite some time and have never had any problems until now. I have seen alot of people having this problem, I do not mean autocorrect for spell check. When composing emails, the autocomplete feature is not working at all. I will briefly outline what I mean.. When I am typing an email address it will usually predict what I want and show a drop-down menu with names to choose from. For example, if I want to send an email to "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***" I will type "js" in the "to" field and it will predict what I want.

The problem started when I got a new mac and did a time capsule restore from the old one. I am running parallels with Windows 7 and have Outlook 2013 for Windows on which this feature DOES work properly. Furthermore, I can log into the exchange webmail and this feature also works properly.

Here are troubleshooting steps which I have already tried with no success:

1. Uninstall and reinstall Office 2011
2. Delete all Outlook data from Mac and restore the program.
3. Create new identity in Outlook.
4. Remove account from Outlook and add back.
5. Delete "Recent Addresses" file from the Outlook directory and rebuild.
6. Remove old identity completely and add a new one.
7. Restored Mac to factory settings and re-install Office.

Basically I am stumped and could use any suggestions to help get this fixed. I am CONSTANTLY sending emails, probably 2000 per day and this is incredibly annoying and destructive to my productivity.

A couple more things that may help someone come up with an answer - The global address book is intact and functional, if I type the first couple letters of an email address and press "TAB" or "ENTER" it will change what I typed to that persons email address. for example, if I type "js" and press tab it will change to "*** Email address is removed for privacy ***." Also, from time to time when I am typing an email address I will see the bottom of the autocomplete drop-down box at the very top of the screen, it is out of view and I can only see one or two names at the bottom and cannot drag it or move it or anything like that but I feel like this may be pertinent information when troubleshooting.

PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME I WOULD BE SO APPRECIATIVE BECAUSE NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE THIS OUT YET AND IM READY TO THROW THIS MAC OUT THE WINDOW AND GO BACK TO A PC BECAUSE I USE OUTLOOK SO MUCH! -THANKS!
on the inbox e-mail list, Outlook for Mac shows a paperclip (like if message has attachments) for all e-mails containing signatures with embed images.
When I open the e-mail, the image is then display correctly as embed and no attachments are showed in the e-mail.

This make it impossible to filter by attachment in the search options.

I have been using outlook for windows and I never had this problem, it seems to be related only with outlook for Mac.

Can this be configured via settings or is a limitation on outlook for Mac ?

thanks

I have Outlook 2011 and some people send me calendar invitations from iCloud.

Outlook becomes unresponsive and takes a long time to process the invitation, mostly it pauses very annoyingly.

It also stays on the invitation when I click to another email in my inbox ie I select another email and the conternts chnage but the header information stays the same - this cant be right as Outlook freezes and most of the time I have to quit and relaunch Outlook.

I have rebuilt my database, and I have even removed the Microsoft User Data folder and had it start fresh, with out any luck.

Im on 10.8.5, Outlook 14.3.9
I am a licensed owner with a product key.  I thought I registered the software.  Several bugs lately suggest I re-install.  Where can I get a download that allows me to apply my product key?

Hi,

I just bought a new macbook air and added my hotmail account to my microsoft outlook on mac. Now I face the problem that I have to wait 15 minutes for an email update since I otherwise get the notification: "exceeded the login limit for a 15 minute period. Reduce the frequency of requests to the POP3 server." So changing to a repeating schedule every 1 minute doesn't work.

I used outlook on my pc before and never had this problem. I always received incoming emails within the minute it's been sent.

So is that a outlook mac problem? And is there anything I can do so that I get my new incoming emails without much delay? I am using it at work and therefore need to reply quickly.

Any help would be much appreciated! Joe

And this drives me nuts! For example, if Outlook resides in the background and I'm online using Facebook and composing a message.

An email arrives,  forcing the web browser to the background and bringing Outlook to the front. This is totally disruptive.

If I want to use Outlook, bringing it to the forefront, then and only then, I'm ok with that.  Otherwise, I want Outlook humming in the background and unobtrusive.  If an email arrives, I get an audible alert and I'm ok with that.

How can I negate this problem?

Thanks, Vince in Leesburg, VA
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I have a 7.23MB PDF file that becomes a 9.8MB PDF file when attached to an email.

I'm trying to keep the file size as small as I can - why is the extra size added to the PDF?

I'm on an IMac, using Outlook for Mac 2011 and Adobe Acrobat Pro X/Indesign CC to generate the PDFs.

This isn't an isolated issue, it happens when I attached word documents as well and is extremely annoying!

Looking forward to hearing from anyone out there (desperately!)
My school e-mail is outlook 365. How do I create new folders? When using PC all I had to do was to right mouse click.
outlook for mac is continuously downloading the same emails since installing Mavericks. Everything has been fine for years before that I have not changed the settings.
