I have a new account that I tried getting support from the Windows Live Team and they set me here to the MODERATOR. I cannot access this new account going through the password reset or "I Can't use any of these options" page----I have a lot of information for that reset, but not enough I guess. Looking fo help with mm gaining access to this account!

the sender of the message claims to be *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
I also received a second message from microsoft with the (correct!) phone number of that person (filled up for additional security in case the password is forgotten)
this seems like a serious security issue.
is this a known bug in outlook?
I had an old email account linked to my new one so I could receive any emails that came through to it. I have not used this account for years and only occasionally checked it to keep it active.
I had received an email with regards to closing down linked account for security.
When I went to try and transfer all emails from my old account I could not remember the password or security questions.
I have tried completing the questionnaire but I cannot supply enough information as I cannot remember.
Surely if the two accounts were linked then it’s clear that I am not someone trying to hack into an email account.
How can I get access to the old account so I can transfer all the emails then shut down the account?
