My client's Outlook/outlook.com stopped delivering emails one week ago (last delivered email was dated 8/9/13) and today is 8/16/13.
I have set up a new profile on another machine, and same result, but even fewer messages are downloaded before it reports 'disconnected'.
I'm not sure if there are server problems - I tried changing the server but it reverts back.
This had been working for several months, and now all of a sudden it just stopped working.
Both of the machines I tested on are Win 8 machines with Outlook 2013.

A few hours later, I received messages in the impacted account, also in Spanish and also from Microsoft. They are legitimate messages, it seems, and I entered them into a translation application but was unable to discern exactly what they say. It appears that someone is attempting to gain access or has gained access to the impacted hotmail account.
I have screenshots of the messages that I can send privately to a mod./admin. I do not want to attach them here because they contain my email addresses, which I presume would be viewable by the public.
I should add that I just now also changed the security question on the impacted account. In addition, I have a complete antivirus software suite on my computer, and no viruses or malware are detected.
What I would like to know is, (1) did someone gain access to my account, (2) do they still have access, and (3) how can I prevent them from gaining or maintaining access now.
Thanks very much for any assistance you are able to provide!
In setting up windows 8 I tried to create a Microsoft Account under my gmail account. Somehow I made a mistake.
- Now if I try to log in I'm told my password is incorrect.
- I try to reset the password and I'm told the account doesn't exist.
- I try to send a single access code message to my cell phone and my cell phone number is recognized. However, no access number is ever sent.
- I created a companion account under outlook.com and tried to add my gmail as an alias. That action tells me the name already exists.
Is there a way to straighten this out? my gmail account is my preferred primary e-mail address and my user login for Windows 8 on my new laptop. Any help you can offer would be extremely welcome. Please let me know who to contact or what to do. Thank You
same problem since yesterday till now. they say "You might have issues syncing email with your mobile device".
Oh and i also make a report but it's nothing.
Recently, in the last week I've been unable to access my hotmail account and I've a hunch MS might be kicking some customers to the curb. After speaking w/Haji, who immediately tells me he can give no support unless I'm a paid hotmail/Outlook person, I was ultimately able to get him to give me an email address to which I could address my concerns. As in: Help! What is wrong on the MS end of things? Didn't get any response but I was able to log in about :30 minutes later. Anyone else having similar problems? I've seen the few similar questions but as they date from a year ago, or one from February, not sure if they'd help or be "your mileage may vary."
Two days ago I can log in but one 'category' is blocked. Error was nonsense. Today I try to log in, using FF and get error 'server not found.' Can log in using IE. Doesn't make sense. Anyone else experiencing this? Wondering how widespread it is.
I'll read the old answers and use IE as a workaround for now but wonder what else is in store. Hope to find anyone in the same boat posting Q's here, as well as finding solutions.
Thanks,
Mac
