I use Outlook.com for Android on my smartphone. Junk mail is now appearing in my Inbox even though on my PC, both in the Office client as well as the Outlook.com Internet program, the same Junk continues to go to Junk.

How do I fix?

Thanks

Hey all, I'm having a serious problem with my Hotmail account, and can't seem to find any help. Basically, I'm dealing with a security issue and I need to receive some type of verification code, but the e-mail address the code is being sent to no longer works. Can somebody, anybody, please help me?

Greetings,

I was messing with my profile information for an outlook.com (hotmail) account that I have had for over a decade. When I changed my birthdate to "2011" and submitted, it locked me out requiring parental consent. I had to create a new account and register myself as the parent of myself (cost .50 and I'm ok with the charitable donation).

I now have access to my longstanding account but I cannot change my birthdate.

I would like to have my longstanding account reset with the rights and access of someone who is over 18 years of age.

Please advise.

Thanks!
Blaine
why cant I and anyone else open theire acount of hotmail on my pc

I am unable to get any emails on my outlook (hotmail.com) account. I logged on from different computers, etc, and still no emails. I spoke with Microsoft customer support and they indicated it was because they were having server issues & maintenance since 8/13 on Hotmail (outlook.com) and customers are having various issues and others are not. Sounded like a convenient excuse with no attempt resolving this

I had gotten the email below and the account was actually shut down last week while they provisioned additional storage

and everything was working fine until this past Wed 8/21.  I sent an online tech support request and got a support request tracking (ticket) # too.

It looks like your account is growing really fast.
Outlook.com storage is designed to grow at a rate that serves the needs of the vast majority of our customers. Once in a while, a customer's storage needs grow faster than expected. We've provisioned additional storage for your account, but you might want to delete some of your old mail.
Here are a few suggestions to help you manage your account:
  1. Sweep your inbox clean. You can delete all messages from unwanted senders in a few clicks. Learn how.
  2. Let Outlook.com manage your Newsletters. Schedule automatic cleanups with Sweep so you only keep the latest deals or newsletters. Learn how.
  3. Make the rules work for you. You can set up your Outlook.com account to automatically delete unwanted email. Click Options, click More Options, and then click Rules for Sorting New Messages.
  4. Unsubscribe or mark unwanted mail as Junk. You can find Unsubscribe links within some of the Newsletters you receive. If you can't find them, mark the mail as Junk and Outlook.com will begin filtering such mails to the Junk Folder.
  5. Create an Archive on your Hard Drive. Set up a folder on your PC hard drive where you can save large attachments. Then delete them from your inbox.
  6. Store your data on SkyDrive. Save large attachments to SkyDrive, then delete them from your inbox. Learn about SkyDrive.
Sincerely,
The Outlook.com Team

Any assistance or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

As of today, I am suddenly receiving floods of junk mail delivered to my inbox.  Last week I was unable to log on for two days while problems with site were resolved. This week, I'm getting advertisements delivered to my inbox.  Is this a result of the merge with Outlook? My hotmail account used to be so reliable.

I really dislike the format whereby emails are listed in chains. If I need to find an email that is not at the top of the list (i.e. the most recent) it gets buried and the more messages that come in in the same chain the farther down the list it goes. To find it you have to scroll down. It is not always easy to respond to the right email; sometimes attachments seem to get lost, and it is easy to get confused about who had been included and not included in messages down the chain - it is difficult to see whether someone who was not included in a discussion can now see the entire discussion if he/she was included at a later date.

CAN I CHANGE BACK TO THE PREVIOUS SYSTEM ???

Hello --

I have a NameCheap webhost, and I cannot verify my domain name for the life of me.  I am setting the MX record (the only one, in fact) of my domain to:

HOST NAME      MAILSERVER HOST NAME                     MAIL TYPE     MX PREF    TTL
@                     b7c715bbaa6d2348b1205e8d472251      MX               10              1800

But domains.live.com keeps giving me this error:

You need to prove ownership of this domain by creating a DNS record. Use the settings below.

I've made this change over 72 hours ago, have deleted and readded the domain several times.  I hit the refresh button and I keep getting this error back.  I don't know what to do next... any help you can provide would be great.

Thank you!
I am running Windows 8 and need to remove the email restrictions from my daughters' accounts.  I am not seeing a place for email restrictions - just for website & time restrictions.  Where do I need to go to take care of this?  Thank you

I was curious about 'why Live Writer replaces "--" with a dash' (and if there were any way I could get it to replace 'a couple OTHER keystrokes' with symbols like 'the cent,' etc.)

Well, I opened Tools > Options > Editing, and saw there the options to 'replace hyphens with dash,' 'replace straight quotes with smart quotes' and ... 'replace other special characters' ...

WHAT 'other special characters' WHERE?
