Original Title: cannot access hotmail

Hotmail keeps pushing OVERPROTECTIVE which is complicated and waste lots of time. This is really irritating and annoying. I'm sure many people will stop using hotmail very soon. It is uncomfortable since it forced to change into outlook view.

I tried so many many times to log in. Try using another account which apparently having the same problems. Even I use another account to receive the code and try to log in, it said "We're not ready for you yet. We'll send you an email on 6/23/2014 when you can replace the following security info.". This is ridiculous. Do I have to wait for a month to log in?????????

People use hotmail, normally because it is easy to use, but now it's totally not like that. Hope you fix the problem soon.

I recently changed my password. Outlook online works with the new password, as does my Windows Surface RT and my OneDrive. I uninstalled Windows Live Mail and reinstalled. I also removed my email account from it and re-added it to the new version of Live Mail. Nothing works, it keeps rejecting the new password. It also won't accept the old password.

Once upon a time, as an MS Outlook 2007 user, I was able to switch between different accounts while putting together an email & the signature attached to the new email account I selected would change as well automatically. I have learned how to change the account with Windows Live mail, but the signature does not change along with it.  I have to manually erase & insert the appropriate signature.  Is there a setting I missed?  Is it possible to fix this?  Just a hassel I would prefer avoiding.  Thanks in advance for your help correcting this aggravating issue.

Pete

I need to use my account recovery code and don't know how to go about doing that. It was for a live.com account that I had used to log onto computer and had to jump through hoops to get access back to computer after a week or so. Now I find the code written on a lil piece of paper folded up that just fell out of my wallet the other day.LOL  I think my wife had gotten it out when I was asleep and later put it back. Yeah I know. But could someone step me thru what I need to do now to recover my email  please? I am dumb as a rock and don't know what the process is to go about doing that.  Thanks.

I am changing laptops and going to windows 8.1 and so need to 'carry' my emails on to the new machine.

I have exported my emails a folder on my desktop (it took a long time) and then tried to copy that to a pen drive. Lots of files would not copy. Therefore, I have tried to export the emails direct to a folder on the pen drive. This happens in about 1 second and tells me it has exported them. However apart from some folders and odd files there are no emails on the pen drive. Is there some flag that prevents a second copy? If so, how can I over com it?

I had a problem with WLM getting a report that database was being recovered. The I get error report that an unexpected error occurred and program will close, which it does. Any ideas??

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.

Uninstalled and reinstalled WLM using lastest download available through microsoft. Performed 'repair' afterwards

Tried via outlook 2007 and the same error comes up

I too have the same problem on both my machines with windows 7.

I am desperate to fix this after more than a year as none of the proposed solutions on line make any difference and I have reinstalled clean as well as repaired the installations countless times. I have the latest framework updates also. I cannot delete my XP machine until I have a solution to this problem.

Thanks in advance.
