Greetings all,
I am using Windows Live Mail with Win 7 and have a question. Over the last couple of days, I have been inundated with thousands of emails, mostly return to sender, failed delivery, etc.. I understand that someone in Estonia picked my email address to inflict this on me and my mail provider, resulting in my mail provider getting put on several blacklists. But aside from all that, I have a question about blocked domains. Most of the time, to block a domain, I will right click on the email in question, go to junk email, and click on add senders domain to block sender list. In my haste to block as many senders that I can, I might have blocked some domains that I maybe I shouldn't have.. yahoo..sbc...rr..Hotmail,gmail. , etc. How can I reverse this block, and is there a list of blocked domains somewhere in my computer that I could possibly edit? I guess I could monitor my emails very closely, and if/when I get an email from the domain that I blocked, I could just click the other option, add senders domain to safe sender list. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jim
My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. I use Windows Live Mail for my email. My ISP is Time Warner (Rochester, NY). I can send and receive email, but as of a few days ago, after my real email has been managed, Live Mail continues to indicate that it is downloading email. The numbers just keep rolling rapidly and don't stop. Soon the screen is indicating that it has downloaded tens of thousands of emails and is continuing to download more. No actual emails appear in my mail program and a check at my email account at the Time Warner website shows that there are no emails to download. Please HELP!
Thank you,
Tom Plutchak

My account was blocked with a message that stated it may have been possible that someone tried to access my account or that the incorrect password was entered too many times. A rep from Microsoft sent me a link that allowed me to access the account after I filled out the information page that requires you to list numberous things about the contents of email messages.
That worked fine for a week or more, but now the account is locked again showing the same message. Im hoping that I can get some assistance in unlocking the account again and taking the neccessary steps so that this does not happen again. I have important medical information inside that I NEED to be able to access.
Have Windows 7 and Live Mail was created Oct. 30, 2010 when computer was purchased. Live Mail has a Modified date of July 10, 2013. Have always used the Live Mail icon at bottom of desktop which would show my email address and prompted for my email password.
June 13, 2014, I brought up my email and was just about to click on the newest one in the Inbox when I saw a bolt of lightening out the window. Yes, a storm was just starting, but was anxious to see the email - stupid. The power went off for a second, a black screen with white print asked how I wanted to reboot the computer. I chose the highlighted choice, which I think said "normal". The computer came back up and all looked find until I clicked the Live Mail icon.
Could only get "Quick View". It never displayed my email address and didn't prompt for my password, yet it said it was "online" in the lowest right corner of the screen. My regular folders weren't there, and the ones that were there were empty. I used Internet Explorer to get to the optimum.net site to log into my email from there. My Inbox there is ok. The Sent folder only has a few items, which must be because I sent them from the optimum site, not my Live Mail.
To get support, I had to create a Microsoft account. No answer received, but 48 hours aren't up yet. I brought the computer to the place I bought it and using my MS account, my optimum email address was added, and we turned off the MS account window from popping up. Now my Live Mail icon acts like it did before the storm. The Inbox is ok, my contact info is ok, but the SENT folder is empty. Since I've been looking for a job for over a year, I need those important Sent emails.
Just tried sending an email to see if new ones will be saved (all settings are ok to do that). It won't let me send emails. Got this error message:
"The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was '....'". It correctly showed my email address. It also showed: Server Error - 530. Server Response: 530 5.7.0 No AUTH command has been given. Server: 'mail.optonline.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID 0x800CCC78 Protocol: SMTP Port 587 Secure(SSL):No
The mail properties are: Incoming POP3 server, Incoming Mail - mail.optonline.net, Outgoing mail (SMTP) - mail.optonline.net, Incoming Mail Server - username (and it does have mine), and the radio button is set for 'Log on using clear text authentication. Security = Algorithm 3DES. Advanced has Outgoing Mail (SMTP) 587, Incoming Mail (POP#) 110.
Sorry for the long description, but I want to provide info so the problems I'm having are not misinterpreted. I need to be able to send emails, and I hope I can get my "sent" emails back.
Thanks
I can't delete or open one particular email all that happens is the message appears saying "unknown error occurred". I have tried repairing it to no avail. Anyone got any ideas. It will not be moved either. Thanks Steve
