I logged into my hotmail account today to find an annoying panel of advertising on the right hand side. I cannot stand this, have been an MSN customer forever, and do not think I should have to pay MSN for my loyalty to it to make the ads go away. Also, my options are not clear, your dashboard is overly complicated, and I am looking for other options after more than 10 years of being with MSN. I actually feel like the thing that would have made good business sense is to give newcomers options if you want to have them pay for no advertising, but grandfather your customers in to free email who have been accustomed to having it without ads inside their inbox. Short of leaving MSN, what can I do?

I would like to know how much space each email is taking up on my computer so that I can read those using up to most space, first but I can't find any info on how to set my email up to do this. Thanks in advance Maggie

windows live mail 2012 keeps closing down and saying windows ilve mail has stopped working, tried uninstalling, and installing, cleaning registry, no luck.

Its really annoying as you get half way through an email and it closes!

Any ideas?

My wife has a pop g-mail a/c and an Imap g-mail a/c. Both these accounts have been working OK in Windows Live Mail. Today they both asked for a password to be put in which we did. They still said incorrect  password. We tried changing the password...still no luck. Both accounts open up OK through Googlemail Web site, but not in Live Mail. Can you please give some guidance.
Many thanks
Peter

I installed on my desktop and noticed the version was different on my laptop. so uninstalled on the laptop.  Have made several attempts to install and never got as far as being able to select which items I wanted to install.

This is Windows 7 Pro x64, it's my work laptop so I can't go do Windows Update with it, but I couldn't when I installed the previous version.  It's almost up-to-date with Windows updates.

There wasn't a Windows Live folder in c:\program files, or c:\program files\common files, I did remove the various Windows Live folders in the appdata folder.

The error was 0x80040c2a 'WaitForCatalog'.  No problems downloading other things this morning - Internet seems quite zippy.

Frustrated, off to see if an altenative IMAP client exists.

I'm using Windows 7 Live Mail. I want to send a photo to a friend. The original size of the photo is  6MB. Before attaching to the email I reduce the size of the file to 1MB and attach it to the email generated in Live Mail. The photo is uploaded to SkyDrive but is displayed at about 30KB with very poor quality. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong please.

When I add a contact to a category, I have to create a new category, and can't delete delete the old one.  What am I missing here?

[Moved from feedback]

Is it possible to see a senders e-mail address without opening their e-mail

Hi there,

In order to send and receive mail I  am suddenly  being asked to log on to my live mail account using my user name and password. My password is not being recognised. I have tried repairing the programme but this has not helped.
