On my desktop running W7, in WLM2011 there is a down arrow at the upper left that has "Options" on the menu.  Security, composition, etc defaults can be set there.  It is missing on my W8 laptop.  Now what?
How can I edit the spell check file in Windows Live Mail. I clicked ADD by mistake, adding a incorrectly spelled word.
I have followed your instructions as outline in "If you need all the contact data for the members of a category..."

How do I now import those contacts (each category saved in a separate folder), back into a category in my Windows Live Mail contacts.  I can do some by creating a category and selecting contacts as "listed" in the category folder; but some of the categories contain upwards of 100 contacts.  That would take a while.

When I selected "Import / Business card .vcf" and selected one of my category folders created above, WLM just imported into "All Contacts" and did not give me an option to import into a category.
I have established multiple categories (distribution lists) in Windows Live Mail.  When I use Hotmail.com  (I know, I know it's now Outlook now) from my web browser to create an email and specify a category in the To: block, all names appear.  However, when I use Windows Live Mail 2012, some of the names are missing and sometimes no names appear.  If I go to the contacts page to view the category, all of the names appear.  If I edit the category, names are missing.  This is an unacceptable issue and needs immediate attention.  The problems exists on all four of my PCs.
i want to send pictures, I hit attachements and nothing it was working fine until outlook took over only once has it worked and I am not impressed what to do
New PC with Windows 8. In windows Live mail nearly all incoming mail shows as read - not unread. A few show initially as unread, but shortly after they flick to unread before I have opened or read it. I would have thought this is controlled under Option - Email and then the' Read' tab, but nothing there solves it. How can I get incoming mail to show as unread, please ?
I can do a workaround with Find asking for messages to my email address, but this is cumbersome!
I can't get in to my mail from my laptop ( I can from my desktop).  It says "WLM is incompatible", "Incompatible application", "Server error - 0x80072FOD".  Please help!!!

Original title: Can't send or receive mail.

I can send email but cannot receive email on one of my accounts. During the receive I get Server Error 0x8000CCC90. I can receive and send email on another account on the same server. Both accounts are configured the same way. Had Frontier tech support work on it for an hours or so can't get it to work.

here the errors:

Unable to send or receive messages for the users Email account. The email server returned an error.

Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [SYS/TEMP] problem retrieving message.
Server: 'pop3.frontier.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC90
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No

With setting exactly the same I can pull this account down on another computer but cannot pull the other account down. Turned off the firewall still no help. Changed to port 995 and also redid passwords still nothing.
