Posting my issue from this thread link, as instructed to do so by a moderator: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windowslive/forum/mail-email/outlookcom-not-retreiving-email-from-other/a44d5189-6970-4441-87c6-1b34710b316f
OK, so I added my Yahoo Mail account to the Windows Mail app on my Windows 8 machine. It is working just fine.
My Yahoo email will NOT work at the moment as a "send and receive" account in Outlook.com. This also means I don't get the Yahoo email through the "Outlook.com" account I added to my Windows Mail app. It also doesn't work through Outlook 2013 desktop program. I have 2 other non-Yahoo email accounts as "send and receive" and they work just fine. I also have a secondary sbcglobal.net (Yahoo) e-mail as a "send and receive" and that is NOT working through Outlook.com either.
Note that earlier this year (around August when I originally posted) my email wasn't working then it started working consistently again, suddenly. Then it stopped again altogether again. The last time I received my Yahoo mail through Outlook.com was Oct 16, 2013.
It's ridiculous that a service of this stature is functioning in a basic way, as intended or designed. I already checked my Yahoo! Mail settings to ensure that the POP3 option is enabled on that side.
Hello
I have win 8.1 without office installed.
Prior to 8.1 update in the "metro / modern" version of the SkyDrive app if I opened an excel file or word doc it would open up the web app automatically.
However since 8.1 I can not open these files via metro SkyDrive app.
It opens up the desktop version of IE and shows a blank page.
I am sure must be something to do with my default app settings but can't find the fix myself.
Anyone have the answers ??
Thanks
I noticed that whenever I read all of my emails in outlook or in live mail, all of my emails in yahoo become read even if I still have a lot of unread emails. How do you stop this from happening? Recently, I haven't logged in to outlook or windows live mail because I don't want to lose track of all of my unread emails.
Thanks for whatever help or input your can give me.
Sharon
