I have created an alias account on my outlook.com account. For some reason I cannot receive emails, until I complete the following steps, Gear and More Email Settings,  Your Email Accounts, then in the Accounts that I have added go to Details, then Edit. Then I have to go to Password box under the incoming server settings heading just above the SMTP settings and re type the password. (it appears that the password that I type in the box is not saving as when I return to this step there are only 8 characters marked out and my password is 11 characters) When I have completed these steps the queued emails or test I have sent all come through but I have to repeat the above steps to receive any other emails as it seems that the password doesn't save itself.

I hope I have explained this problem in enough detail. It is totally frustrating and I have deleted the alias and began again, closed outlook.com account and started again and been trying all day to solve this problem. Can someone please help.

Many thanks

Matthew.

I have a hotmail.com account that automatically switched to outlook.com recently.  I need to set up a new email address and transfer old email files to it.  I don't have a clue how to do it and not loose my old email account files.  I do not want any new messages to be received in the old hotmail.com account once I set up a new one.  Is there anyway to alert senders that they need to resend to new address as well?
since this morning i can not uese outlook.com, when I open the mail after a few seconds all the images are gone.
What is the solution?
Hi,

I haven't been receiving some messages sent to an email address which forwards the messages to my hotmail email address. I have confirmed with the administrator of the forwarding domain that the messages were forwarded successfully to hotmail, and can provide logs if necessary.

I do not use a client to receive my email, and I check my Junk folder daily. I am very confident that I did not receive these messages at all.

I was in the BCC field of all of them, and both subjects contained a special character.

White listing the senders is not a workable solution, as I regularly need to receive email from the public.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks!

Dear Skydrive team,

I've paid for your maximum allowable service, so I have many, many files. Some of these files have names that apparently are too long. I have had a painstakingly difficult time locating the files. I have to start a skydrive sync, then wait until it fails on one file, correct, and restart the entire sync again. Do you happen to have a tool that can pre-identify them BEFORE the sync happens so I don't have to try to do this over and over and over again and again?

thank you,

Throughout the past 3 days, Outlook labours to open any message or to review folder contents.  When r-click spinning tab to refresh, it pops open yet must repeat refresh for any following action.  Anyone else?

The Outlook.com Team,

My account is growing too fast because your product is just not good. Some of the basic function does not even work.

I have a folder that contains 60,000 emails from a listserv. Every time I tried to empty that fold, outlook.com failed. I do not want to manually delete those emails either. That is why my account is growing too fast.

So stop sending emails below and go fix your product.

Thanks,
Ukyo

Subject: Your Outlook.com account is growing too fast

It looks like your account is growing really fast.
Outlook.com storage is designed to grow at a rate that serves the needs of the vast majority of our customers. Once in a while, a customer's storage needs grow faster than expected. We've provisioned additional storage for your account, but you might want to delete some of your old mail.
Here are a few suggestions to help you manage your account:
  1. Sweep your inbox clean. You can delete all messages from unwanted senders in a few clicks. Learn how.
  2. Let Outlook.com manage your Newsletters. Schedule automatic cleanups with Sweep so you only keep the latest deals or newsletters. Learn how.
  3. Make the rules work for you. You can set up your Outlook.com account to automatically delete unwanted email. Click Options, click More Options, and then click Rules for Sorting New Messages.
  4. Unsubscribe or mark unwanted mail as Junk. You can find Unsubscribe links within some of the Newsletters you receive. If you can't find them, mark the mail as Junk and Outlook.com will begin filtering such mails to the Junk Folder.
  5. Create an Archive on your Hard Drive. Set up a folder on your PC hard drive where you can save large attachments. Then delete them from your inbox.
  6. Store your data on SkyDrive. Save large attachments to SkyDrive, then delete them from your inbox. Learn about SkyDrive.
Sincerely,
The Outlook.com Team
