Hello, I have a certain address that I don't ever wanted sync'd to my Windows Live Mail. So in my Hotmail, I set up a filter with the option:

That did the trick. The message never reached WLM, even the Deleted Items folder. Starting 2 days ago, 4/15/14, I started getting new-message notifications in WLM and when I check, the new message is in "Deleted Items". This is what I was trying to avoid in the first place: new message notifications for deleted items.

Did something break in the past few days?

Laptop - Windows 7 - Windows Live Mail

When I go to my e-mails I am getting a pop up window containing the above error message.

The emails that I can see listed are accessible as normal and I can send e-mails. However my inbox has not updated for the last couple of days.

My smart phone and tablet which are synced to WLM have also stopped receiving - They use Android 'Jelly Bean' as the O/S

Oddly my tired old desktop which is also sync'd to WLM is running XP is happily updating and send/receiving via Outlook.com.

I have seen numerous references to this exact error across the web and there are suggested fixes which usually included deleting the e-mail address and then re cresting it. However I don;t to do thid in case I lose vital data. In any case these 'fixes'apparently work for some but not others.

I had this issue a few weeks ago and after changing my password a few times it seemed to go away. However it's back and this time the 'pasword change fix' hasn't worked,

Please help as this is extremely frustrating.

I am encountering the same issue, but I don't think the moderator understood.  I am trying to export messages from Windows Live Mail in order to import them into Outlook on a PC.  They are not going to an Exchange server.  I select the WLM Export function, then the Microsoft Exchange format.  WLM confirms that this will export the selected messages to "Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Exchange".  I confirm that, and WLM goes off and does something and reports success.  The problem is that it never tells me WHERE it puts the exported messages.  I looked in the Outlook Files in My Documents, not there.  It doesn't appear to be anywhere in the WLM area of the AppData directory.  And it doesn't even tell me the file type so that I can do a search.  Is it a .PST file?  I need to know where it is so I can point Outlook to it to import it.
WLM 2012 is very slow to complete initialization, in the order of 4 or 5 minutes.  Uninstalling and reinstalling will correct the problem for about a week or two, then the initialization problem returns.  I have plenty of memory and CPU available.  Is this a know bug?

Hi All,

I have a problem viewing images attached to an e-mail when the attachments have the same file name, the version is Windows Live Mail - Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308).

Say I receive an e-mail with three images attached, all with the file name photo.jpg, when I go to view them, either by clicking 'View slide show' or by double clicking on an individual image as previewed at the top of the reading pane, I always get the last attached image, I cannot view any of the other images.  I believe this is because WLM extracts all the attachments to a temporary folder, and as they all have the same name they overwrite each other leaving the last one standing.

A different e-mail with three images attached named photo1.jpg, photo2.jpg and photo3.jpg display fine if I double click them or view as a slide show.

I've tested this on two different computers with WLM and it happens on both.  Does anyone know a workaround - or how to report this as an issue to Microsoft?

Thanks,

Jono

Windows 7 x64

WLM 2011 (because of category problem)

HP Probook 4520s

I am unable to reply to emails coming into WLM 2011 email client

I can read the emails, but cannot reply within the email client.

Error Message:  "Windows Live Mail Stopped Working - trying to restart".

It closes WLM, then restarts it, but still unable to reply to mail.

I have repaired WLE.

I have signed out and signed back in.

I have restarted my computer.

I am able to access email from internet browser (read and reply).

Did something happen to WLM 2011 in the last few week?

I would like to use Arial 11 for composing emails but no odd numbered font sizes appear in the drop down list in WLM.  I have tried Options>Mail>Compose>Font settings, select 11 and apply OK.  The 11 remains in that location but the actual program always reverts to the nearest even number; in this case 10 which is too small.

I can’t see why a program that contains access to dozens of font designs in its drop down list is nonetheless so very limited in font sizes.  Is there a simple fix that I’m missing?

The WLM version I am using is 15.4.3555.0308

I've been having a lot of trouble with WLM since I accepted Two-Step Verification (which I've now turned off), but I still have a problem with delta sync asking me for my password when I sign in. I can't remember ever having to set a password for this, so I'm a bit stuck as there's no "Forgot Password?" button. I've tried all my usual email passwords but to no avail. I'm guessing not knowing this password is why WLM is not sync-ing correctly. Can I use a different server?

I have Windows Live Mail (WLM) Desktop 2012 on several machines. My Windows 7 laptop has had it installed since they informed us that Outlook Express was being phased out several years ago, but I have updated it on each release (Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3522.0110)). On this machine, when you click on Contacts, it opens in the same window as the Mail program.  On a Windows XP box, I have installed this on a few days ago, when you click on Contacts, it opens in a separate Window (Version 2009 (Build 14.0.8117.0416)). I do not know if the versions make a difference, but was this feature removed as I would like to be able to go back and forth between my Inbox and Contacts without losing what I am reading. I use Alt+Tab to switch between apps, which is far more efficient than mouse clicking and trying to locate what you were, because all the lists reset themselves as you move from one window to the next. I have looked through the registry settings on each machine, but cannot find anything that would indicate opening Contacts in a separate window. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

I have read many answers to this but none have helped.    I WAS using WLM v11 and it was stuck on off line, although I was able to send and receive emails via Yahoo and I am on line 99% day without any known interruption.

I have tried Alt F but I do not have that option to tick or untick is not there - the Off line choice is not there. I have got Properties and then Exit nothing in between.   I have looked at the other tabs.

I tried the windows repair

I uninstalled all of Windows Essential and re installed and now have WLM v12 thinking that might help.

This is Windows 7, using the IE as web browser.

I have invested so much time re this problem that I don't want to give up.

Any help would be appreciated.
