Can anyone help me retrieve my “suddenly-for-no-friggin’-reason” vanished storage folders in WLM? There is a way to do it, but it is not intuitive. MS apparently does not want to make it easy. I know how to use the “import” function, but I can only import the empty file folders. The emails contained therein remain somewhere on my C drive. I had this problem a few months ago and the MS tech fixed it for me in just a few minutes. I called MS support yesterday and they told me that they no longer offer telephone support for WLM despite the fact that I purchased a year’s support plan at that time. The email file names are a mix of letters and numbers so unless you know where and what to look for, it’s impossible to find them. I uninstalled/reinstalled WLM and reestablished the sync with my primary email service so I just need to recover my storage files and saved emails. Any help out there?

I use WML 2012 (in Windows 7), when I use categories to send emails, the email is only sent to part of the category list.

I use WLM without signing in to Windows Live - I do not want a copy of my contacts on the cloud.

Searching online I found that this is an ongoing problem for the past 2 years.

I could not find any instances that the Microsoft Team provided a solution.

Has anyone found a case when the issue was resolved by the Microsoft team?

Has anyone found a solution for these issues and would you share the links to the solution?

Some further information.

A limited review of threads discussing how to repair WLM 12 (in Windows 7) provided me with just one clear solution: move from WLM 12 to WLM 11.

It provides me with two workarounds that I have been able to test and verify that they work:

1.       My preferred solution:

In a new email window, enter the selected Category in the To: box.

Click on the “Add to” button.

Within the Add to box, click on the (+) sign before the Category.

The complete list of email addresses will then appear.

Click OK

2.       Restart your computer and enter WLM 12.

The Categories will work.

Once you leave WLM 12 and later return, Categories will stop working again.

You will need to restart again to regain the functionality.

I have successfully imported WAB from Outlook Express 6 on my old XP desktop to WLM on my new Windows 8.1 laptop. However, I cannot get my old emails to show up. I have followed various instructions. I have created a folder on 8.1 which contains the names of all of the folders/sub folders from OE. I have went to File, Import Messages etc on WLM and pointed to this folder. I have selected the option to import all the folders (as opposed to individual folders) and I see it zooming through all the emails.  I click done or finish and get a new folder on WLM called Imported Folders. However, there is nothing in it. What am I doing wrong?

When sending messages using WLM sometimes the email addresses get scrambled.

As an example I've just sent an email which appears in my sent box as:

To: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

cc: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***; *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

bcc: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Where I'm example4 to provide me a copy of the email.

When this appears in my inbox it appears as:

To: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

cc: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***; examp ; *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

It also appears in example2's inbox the same. It seems to be chopping off some of the cc addresses and sending the bcc as cc (which defeats the object of bcc if everyone can see it). This has happening on and off over for a while now but I can't narrow down what causes it to happen some times and not others.

It also doesn't always happen exactly like that, sometimes the from and to address are scrambled as well. I did check one that the to address was scrambled on a while ago, and they did receive it but it showed scrambled in the same way on their client.

Has anyone come across something similar, or can suggest a probable cause and fix?

(Using XP by the way, if it helps)

I have a stationery i created using an Alpha Image code and it freezes my WLM program. It also freezes on anyones WLM program i send it to. Can anyone tell me what to do to stop the freezing?
Hi everyone, I am continuously getting this time out error 0x800CCC19, on my default email account. Sometimes mail is received and sometimes it is not. I have no problems with getting mails on my phone and no problems with Hotmail account on WLM. My provider says everything on their side is ok. My antivirus provider says everything on their side is ok. My pc manufacturer says everything on their side is ok. Windows & Microsoft tell me to go online and sort it myself! Anyone got any advice or is there another mail software I could use other than Windows live mail? I am now fed up of WLM and would like to change. Thanks in advance!

Hi.  My mail account has loads of nested folders so I can't always remember where they are.

I've gone to outlook.com (which automatically un-nests them) and used ctrl+F to find them on the screen.  Then I scroll up a bit and see where they are in the folder structure.

However, when I go over to WLM, those folders are not there.

This wouldn't be that odd (I'd just imagine they were missing), but if I search in WLM (ctrl+shift+F) for a certain mail or contact within that folder, their mails show up.

I can even open up those emails in WLM... even though I can't find the folder anywhere.

What's going on?

I've spend nearly two hours on this and it's really not that good a use of my time.

Please help.

Thanks

William
Having logon issues with WLM.  My interent provider (Charter) had me change my server from POP to IMAP.  Did this through the Account icon on the WLM.  NOW I have MORE problems than before.  One being that it ADDED a new email account, well, actually now I have three because I kept doing the same thing trying to get the logon issue to go away.  I still have the logon issue and now even more problems with error messages referencing the POP server and having to WAIT for 60 seconds to try again?? So confused and of course, there's no tele support from Microsoft.  She referred me here. So, what do I do now?  Any suggestions?
