I am running WLM 14 on W7. When I start WLM, I connect with a Live ID. When I add a new contact in WLM, how long does it take for that contact to make it into people.live.com? Does this occur in real time, or some time later? Thanks.

Problem: unnecessary duplication of two WLM 2012 accounts

I have three email accounts. When I log into WLM, it downloada messages from all three.

But why is WLM checking my Gmail and my Sbcglobal accounts twice each so that it looks like I have five accounts?

How can I prevent this from happening?

I tried to insert an image displaying this malfunction into this message but it was not accepted.

I see many threads here regarding recovery of contacts, but none that seem relevant to my particular situation, so please excuse me if this has already been answered.

After a hard disk crash I rebuilt my system to this current state...

Windows 7 Professional, 64bit, SP1, WLM Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3508.0205)

I believe I was previously running WLM 2011, but am not exactly sure what version it was.

I have a user backup of my old system.

I have already recovered my folders and emails from the backup.

*** I now want to recover my contacts from the backup. ***

On the backup I can see a couple of things that might be relevant, for example...

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live\Contacts\* - the edb files appear to be small and so i guess are 'empty'.

C:\Users\User\Contacts\user.contact - this appears to have some appropriate size.

I haven't used the Windows Live (cloud) contact facility, now or previously.

I do not have a csv export of the old contacts.

Hope you may be able to help.

Hello, I reformatted my hard drive, installed WLM, configured my account ok but it isn't working.

It says I have an incorrect username/password but I haven't.

I can use Outlook ok.

The window keeps coming up asking for username/password over and over and I fill it in but no, doesn't start my account.

The window actually says WLM is synchronizing the account and to wait but it's been like that since yesterday,

I sent myself an email but it's in the outbox still.

The error code I get is: 80048821

If I use manual configuration, please explain the exact codes I need.

I have no idea what to put in for the settings.

In other posts, moderators say check your email server for settings, but YOU are my email server and haven't found the correct manual settings anywhere (if manually will work?)

Please send a reply to: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***.

WLM: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

I also have more WLM addresses which I would like to add.

Thanks,

Deb

Everything was fine until Feb 15.  I use Windows 7, Windows Live Mail 2012.  I can receive emails but cannot send/reply.  When I try to send I get the message " a problem occurred while trying to open this message".  I had my internet provider tech help me research the WLM log and he discovered the following error  ID - 0x80070005 - I am extremely dependent on using email for my business, so please help quickly !
1. My emails in storage folders had the correct headers, dates, sender etc but the contents of all emails in some folders (involving several thousand emails) all had the same content, ie not the content relating to the headers.  I sought advice from this website.  I was advised to rebuild my message store which I did but this did not repair the problem.  Having reported back I stopped getting any response from this forum.
2. I took out a subscription to the Microsoft Answers Desk.  They searched for viruses (none), checked that various potentially vulnerable applications had the latest updates (they did), took over desktop operation and looked in my folders but decided it was a corrupt folder and out of their scope.
3. Assuming that was the end of it and the email was lost and my subscription to Windows Answer Desk to be wasted I mentioned it to my brother, a recently retired Senior Software Engineer for the Zurich Stock Exchange.  He had a look a the folder, diagnosed the problem within an hour and wrote a script which fixed my email.
4. The problem is a bug in WLM.
5. Microsoft Answers Desk were unable to deal with this reported bug and said the only means of letting Microsoft know about a Microsoft bug is via this forum.
6. I am uncomfortable publishing a bug on a website in case it's exploitable in the wrong hands.
7. My brother is happy to explain the problem and solution (though having gone to the trouble of diagnosing it he's not inclined to go to some trouble to report a Microsoft problem).
8. Please provide a means by which he can privately explain the issue.
I have used WLM for sometime now.

I have 3 accounts - All talk talk

I've had problems over the last 4 weeks, Where every email I send from either of the accounts gets to the recipient but it states SUSPECTED SPAM before the email subject.

Any suggestions? It was fine up until about a month ago when i was alerted my emails are going in peoples junk folders.

Thanks.

Outlook 2007 is installed on the same PC as Windows Live Mail, running Windows 7.  I exported my outlook.pst file to the desktop, but cannot figure out how to import that file into WLM.  I don't know what version of WLM I am running, but I just downloaded it, so it probably is the most current version.

I am making the switch because I prefer having the same application receive but separately display messages from more than one email account, and because, for reasons I cannot understand, Outlook only receives some of my gmail messages, while WLM seems to receive all of them.

After starting up WLM the updating calendar message keeps flashing on the bottom tool bar and stops any emails from coming in. can someone please help?
I started getting this message a few days ago.  I do get the messages to this outlook.com account on my windows phone, but not into WLM.  And WLM can send and receive from 3 other accounts (not outlook.com).

I have already done a repair on Windows Live Essentials as mentioned elsewhere in this forum. I have tried moving the message in the outbox out of it, but still get the error. I have removed the account, and re-created it as a new account.

The server is https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/sync.aspx.  Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003.

I am on Windows 7.  Any ideas?
Thanks
