I have recently upgraded to a new hard drive and chose to do a clean install rather than clone my old hard drive.  I have a problem in exporting/importing my MS Live Email.

As background I am running Windows 7 (64 bit), and Windows Live Email 2012.  When I use the WLE export feature I choose to export all folders.  I can watch as the utility is exporting in Windows Live Email format to an external drive and counting down the files in each subfolder to include my inbox and sent folders.

However when I import from the external drive to my new install of WLE on my new hard drive not all the email sub folders are imported, notably the inbox and the sent email folder.  When I click on the export file and look at the sub folder email structure the inbox and sent mail folder are now where to be seen (even though I saw the email messages being counted down in the sub folders as they were exporting).  I have tried repairing the WLE 2012 software and re-reported/imported with the same results.

The overall size of the exported emails folders is almost 1 GB.  The sent email has about 3600+ emails in it while the inbox has about 1600+ emails (mostly junk emails but that is for another discussion).

Anyway how can I export the these emails?  Could it be that the inbox or sent mail  folders contain corrupted emails which interferes with creating the proper subfolder export structure?  Or are these subfolders exceeding some folder size threshold?

Any help from the community would be appreciative.

I am having a number of issues with Windows Live essentials (WLE) on a Win 7 Home 64-bit system.

A few days ago everything was working fine.  I am not sure if I had WLE 2011 or WLE 2012 at that time.  One day, I could not sign into Windows Live Mail with my Hotmail login info.  I logged into Hotmail (Outlook-web) via the web and changed my password.  Still could not get to my Hotmail account via WLM.

I uninstalled WLE and installed WLE 2012 via web-installer, again I could not log into WLM.  WLM would download and list my new emails, but I could not sign in to view them.  Messenger would not work either, after trying to log in, I ran the troubleshooter, which gave a 'key ports' error.  I tried several online recommendations with respect to IE settings, none of which worked.

I then uninstalled WLE 2012 and installed WLE 2009.  This did work.  It allowed me to get to my Hotmail account and view/send email.  It shows my log in account, but not my profile pic.  However, I still cannot log into Live Messenger 2009, it always asks for permission to update.  Which, I assume is the Messenger/Skype update.  I tried setting Messenger to run in Win XP SP3 compatibility mode, which is supposed to disable the update prompt, however it still asks for the update permission.

I kind of like the 'ribbon' menus of WLE 2011 and 2012, but neither of these versions seem to currently work for me.

I am at a loss as to how to proceed. I am really not interested in the hassle of upgrading, only to have the apps not function, and have to uninstall/re-install or perform a system restore.  I'm getting tired of all the research and various work-arounds required to make things function.  I seem to remember the first time I installed WLE, months ago, it installed and worked like it was supposed to.  Although even then, I could not print from Photo Gallery.

Any advice on how to proceed, would be nice.  Either to get Messenger to work in WLE 2009 or to get the various logins working in WLE 2011/12.

Thx

Original title: WLE will not re-install - Win7 (64-bit)

Have repaired WLE several times, have reinstalled WLE after deleting WLM folders, have entering the contact names from People's page... and nothing! I need groups and, as I 've seen, this is not a new issue, but many people os claiming the same problem at least for over one year.
Have you any news on how to solve this problem?

I have the latest version of Windows Live Essentials, but I cannot find Messenger any place in my computer. How can I have Messenger?

I have downloaded Windows Live Essentials to get Messenger. After downloading I couldn't find the messenger in any place. I tried to download Messenger from diferent places, but in those sites they always download  W L Essentials again and again, and my coumputer tells me that I have the latest version of WLE, but stil no Messenger in any place. I need help.

I have installed WLE,, but only get error Msgs ,,Ox8007007f,,,and WLDlog.dll,,,and UXCore.dll,,i have tried unistall=install,,, but with no luck , i did get a msg at some stage in my searches that it could be a corrupt file or a missing file ,, but ive done a system check and nothing appears to be missing ,, im thinking i might have to reformat and reinstall Windows 7/64 bit, didnt want to go to that hassle ,, hope someone can help,,Harry
Here is my issue. I had an issue the other day with a file on my computer msacm32.dll. I was giving me issue and wouldn't let me play certain games. I discovered I needed to free up some hardrive space. It was causing issues with unity player, and a game that loaded from Steam.

I was also getting error messages when trying to load mail through live essentials. So I uninstalled Windows Live Essentials in an effort to re-install it to get it to work. Well the issue with the .dll was fixed the games worked fine after I cleared harddrive space, though I still had 50 GB there so don't quiet understand why it was an issue, but the problem was fixed.

So today I tried to re-install Windows Live Essentials and it seemed to work, yet none of the shortcuts are in my start menu. I have deleted every folder I can find that is related to this program manually. WLE (short for)is not in my uninstall list from the control panel. I can't get WLE to install properly even though the program says its did. I cant delete the Windows Live Mail folders.

If I think of any other issues attempts I'll add them.
