It gives me an error message saying that I need to check my system specs but they are all up to the requirements. The problem started the second I deleted photo gallery. I recently purchased a drawing tablet as well but I don't think that that would interfere.

I'm unsure of what to do and I need to get movie maker working again. I tried reinstalling windows essentials since that is the only thing that I can find. I am hesitant to delete movie maker since I cannot find a copy anywhere.

Please help.

I just loaded windows 8.1 update and windows photo gallery slideshow will not show pictures in full screen. The slideshow worked fine in windows 8 and windows 8.1 but not in the 8.1 update which I just loaded today. Looking at other posts many people are having the same problem. When will there be a fix?

Reloaded windows 7 on my computer recently. This reformatted the drive and deleted Photo gallery.  When I reloaded gallery, and tried to open image files, I was confronted with an error message announcing I did not have adequet permission to open any of these files.

Is there any utility out there that can reset, in bulk, permissions, sharing, and ownership.  It can be done manually, but with several thousand image files,  manual reset is not an option.   Thanks for any positive feedback, that will resolve this issue.

As I have been scanning slides and putting them into Windows Photo Gallery, I have made decisions to change the way I name the photos for ease in categorizing them.  Every time I change the name, for example from 200 to Mar77-200, I end up with both pictures.  I have tried many many different ways to delete these duplicates, but they always reappear.  Help.  Laurel

So, I doubt this will be fixed as nothing else ever has in windows 8. It ran fine for 6 months, so I guess that's better than most people. I have still not received any answer to my last posts on windows error reporting service causing a blinking screen. I have it disabled to allow my computer to work. Now, I can't go more than an hour without needing to fix something.

I went into the Windows Photo gallery that I've always used on every computer ever. It frequently has bugs, but they always work out. This time, it has been rendered useless. I already uninstalled and re-installed the program. I also ran a "fix". Neither worked.

All of my photos are always uploaded into this--it is faster than anything else. I can use it to change the file size on multiple photos at once. I double clicked a photo in whatever that weird Photo viewer is(looks a lot like the gallery from essentials, but isn't). I click edit. That usually brings you into the Gallery. It did, but the Gallery said it didn't exist. This happens occasionally, re-launching the program solves it. Instead I now get the error. ":Photo Gallery can't find a folder. "  It then lists any and every folder that I try to click on in the files on the left. So, C:User/Katie/Pictures, or Desktop. Nothing can be found. It tells me I can attempt to locate the files and bring them in. If I do that I'm told that all my photos are now hidden files and cannot be imported. The same goes for anything on the desktop, any videos, everything. Apparently everything on my computer is now a hidden file.

I already un-installed and re-installed.

I want to view my pictures for the metro app (Photos).

When I open the Photos app, I am not allowed to see all my pictures in my libraries. Only what is visible on Windows Photo gallery.

So I open Windows Photo gallery to see if i can fix the problem, but nope. I cannot add or remove picture folders on that program either.

So finally i come to the conclusion that these folders that are the only ones i can view in the photos app & photo gallery are the ones ive been syncing to my windows phone. so how do i prevent the phone from intervening with my PC apps/programs?

I have Windows Photo Gallery 2012 on a Windows 7 operating system. Build 16.4.3522.110.  Is there a later version? (Not looking for a live version)

Hi,

Recently Photo Gallery has been inconsistent in displaying images.  Sometimes my files pop up with normal images and color.  Other times, it pops up with muted colors.  It's the entire file/all files, not just a single image or two.  Can't edit when the colors are muted.      The images appear totally washed out.  Today I can't get it to display properly except in muted colors even when I reopen Photo Gallery.

Anyone have a clue what is happening?  I thought my computer has been notifying me of updates.  I have Windows Photo Gallery 2012, Build 16.4.3522.110.  It may be installed as part of Windows Essentials because I use Windows Movie Maker also with my projects.

HI! My name is Tina Brown. I want to uninstall windows photo gallery but I don't have administrator rights. I don't even know how it was installed. I'm guessing through WLEssentials.  I can't even reinstall because its says it is not available for windows vista any longer. I uninstalled Windows live Essentials but that did not help. I do not like this program. I just want to go back to my regular pictures gallery. I run Vista, service pack 2 and desperately need your help. I would appreciate anything you could do to resolve this issue. I'm not trying to bombard you but would also like to know how to uninstall IE 9. It is not in my updates

Thank you Tina Brown.
