Windows Live Mail FAQ
Hi!
In windows live mail; how do I change the sort order in contacts? I don't want it to sort after private, I want it to sort after work i e Company name . The moment I add a first name into the Contact field when editing Contacts Windows Live Mail starts to sort after the first name instead of the Company name. I e the company name disappears in the column where you see all the Contacts and instead the first name appears. How do I change this?

I am using Windowslive mail for a long time. Recently I changed the password in my Hotmail account. Since then I am not able to sign in the Windows Live mail. It takes me to Sign in window, where I type in my Hotmail id and password. This is shown to be wrong. Do I need to change any settings in the Windows? Please help. I am in serious problem. Thanks a lot!

I have had multiple problems with WLM, it won't allow me to send emails from my email address, I have removed it and re-added it. I have also changed from a POP to an IMAP, which it is now saying the following,
Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.
Configuration:
Account: Muooz.com (eat)
Server: imap.asia.secureserver.net
User name: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***
Protocol: IMAP
Port: 143
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 800ccc0e
My computer currently has a 4GB and 3.82 is usable.
I am not sure what I need to do to fix this problem.

The primary hotmail account which i have used for years via your Windows Live Software Version 2009 Build 14.0.8117.0416 has now stopped sending or receiving email.
i use three separate hotmail accounts all of which are configured to run through your Windows Live desktop software.
Two of these three hotmail accounts continue to function as normal.
Only the primary account has now begun failing to send or receive email.
The error message received reads as follows.
Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (simonlovejoy) account. There was an unexpected error and Windows Live Mail can't sync the messages in your Hotmail account. To sync your messages, in Windows Live Mail, remove your Hotmail account and
then add it again. To view messages in your Hotmail account, go to http://hotmail.live.com on the Web.

The email account has been completely removed, the application shut down and restarted, and the account reinstated once more in order to try and overcome this issue.
Your live chat operators have provided no help and simply direct users to this website.
Will someone from microsoft PLEASE respond to this or one of the other issues raised on your website with regards to the problem.
Please help. I cant get or send my emails from my Windows live mail account. Extremely frustrating, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. This is the full error message I receive;
Iv turned off the email scan as per advice from other posts. But why can't I connect to the server?

Can anyone tell me what is new in Windows Live Mail Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3522.0110) which was downloaded and installed on my computer today, 19-Feb-2014? Or where to go to find out? I am interested to know if any of the ongoing issues that have been plaguing WLM have been rectified, and/or what may be new/improved features.

When I go into live mail I get this message.

I don't know if I am receiving mail properly, What can I do?
