When I try to view and send messages on newsgroups via Windows Live Mail 2011, I get these error messages.

Unable to send or receive messages for the news.eternal-september.org account. Windows Live Mail could not post your message. Subject 'Re: Everyone having Endless Fun with our **** and MENTALLY RETARDED flake "starburst" on these Groups! LOL' Server: 'news.eternal-september.org' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E Protocol: NNTP Port: 119 Secure(SSL): No Socket Error: 10060

Configuration: Account: news.eternal-september.org Server: news.eternal-september.org User name: mejercit Protocol: NNTP Port: 119 Secure(SSL): 0 Code: 800ccc0e

This has not happened before. How do I fix this?

I have windows live mail on the laptop and have developed a problem with deleting spam.  When I delete the spam it goes to trash and when I delete the trash everything goes back into spam.  Everything was working fine until recently.  Were some changes made that we are not aware of for deleting spam and trash?  Thanks for your help.

This has been a long term problem with Windows Live Mail

The new mail sound notification works as expected for new mail arriving in my inboxes BUT whenever I delete an email from my JUNK mail folder a few seconds later I get the New mail notification sound.

The visual indicator in the taks bar also suggests a new email has arrived but this  is not correct. There are no new or unopened emails in Hotmail or any other other accounts I use in WLM. The new mail notification is not accurate as presently it is constantly giving false alarms.

Please advise.

After updating my Windows 8 with Windows Essentials I have now lost my Windows Live Mail icon and box on desk top and boxes on start up and have no way of accessing my email. I have also lost personalised apps such as Yahoo and BBc player as examples, amongst many others . Can I revert back in time to a specific day before I activated the update whilst also getting rid of the update. Ive tried for hours to find a way to do this but not understanding the stupid language used to describe simple actions I have failed miserably. HELP!!! I am desperate not to have a nervous breakdown, so can anybody advise urgently.

I've been using live mail for many years, suddenly I was unable to send or receive mail using the program. I removed the program and downloaded it again and I was now able to receive mail but not send. The error is:

The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'test'
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): Yes
Socket Error: 10060  When I log into the Xfinity site I can send and receive mail but I don't like their program so I really want to get Live Mail working again. I only have one email account and I've turned off my virus protection thinking something there was blocking the mail but that did not make any improvement. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

windows live essentials 2011 and windows live mail looks blurred and agedjust recently also lost pictures in gallery maybe a there is a bug but not sure.

Is there any way that windows live could be restored?

I opened Windows Live mail and received email as usual, no problems.

Then I logged out and a prompt came up saying something to the effect that "live mail would compact space" to make room for more emails - this has happened several times before with no problems.

After a few minutes, I went back on to Live Mail and discovered that all of my inbox folders were gone, the "sent items" was empty, basically all records of previous email transactions were gone as if I had reset the program, which I did not.

I then started to re-received over 600 emails that dated back about 3 weeks.

I checked all the current updates, and there were none that had to do with Windows Live Mail.

I called my internet server (which is POP) to see if the settings needed to be reconfigured and they were all intact - I am able to send and receive emails.

I have been on Windows Live Mail for more than a year and have had these re-sent emails happen a few times, but the folders stayed intact.

Can the folders be retrieved? Are they lost or perhaps could they be hidden somewhere?

It seems that everytime something like this happens, I have to call the technical support at Microsoft and instead of helping me they always try to get me to purchase the Outlook Explorer, something that used to be included in the Windows 7 and Vista programs.

I received an upgrade notice some months ago for windows live essentials. It automatically downloaded and installed. Now, my shortcuts to windows live 11 and messenger do not work. In fact, there are no shortcuts anywhere in my computer for windows live 12. In addition, the search feature from the start button cannot locate windows live mail, or live mail, or mail. I have, for all intents and purposes, no mail program on my computer to be found, anywhere. I'm confused by this.

I tried a bunch of times uninstalling, reinstalling, system-uninstalling, reinstalling, offline installing, you name it. Eventually I gave up and resigned to outlook.com but I'd really like to get my mail program and the rest of live essentials working because hey--they're essentials right?

Anyone have help?

Thank you
