Windows Live Mail FAQ
I installed Windows Essentials and now Windows Live Mail won't send/receive. I'm running on Windows 7. I can see the new mail when I go to outlook.com.
I get this error message:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail account.
Server Error: 0x800488EB
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800488EB

Hi, For some reason my windows live mail 2011 stopped sending and recieving. I get the following error 0x800488EB .
I read some other posts to try to fix it , but its still unresolved.
1) I made sure that the Outbox folder in Windows Live Mail is empty.
2) I temporarily disabled my firewall and antivirus then tested it and it did not help.
If anyone has suggestions on how to fix this, that would be great!
We have 2 Live Mail accounts on one pc. Suddenly one of them is having trouble sending messages (all types) . They get stuck in the Outbox. To get them sent I have to log off and log back in, and when I do the messages are sent from the Outbox as I open Live Mail. This means I can only send messages when I have freshly signed on.......after that they stick. I have tried using the repair function on Windows essentials and also resetting Internet Explorer (someone recommended this). Makes no difference if the messages have attachments or not. It happens to all types.
Any ideas?
Hello, all the sudden I am unable to receive or send email through Windows Live. It is working fine for my other email accounts but not for my MSN email account. Password hasn't changed and all other account properties info looks fine.
Here is the info in the error box I receive when trying to download email:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Msn (modesti) account.

I use windows Live Mail to manage several emails. One of them is no longer able to sync and gives the error code 0x800488EB
I have made sure nothing was in the outbox. I have also repaired all the windows live essential programs through the control panel and have turned off my firewall. None of these have resolved the issue.

Any suggestions on gow to get this corrected?

Hi,
I started having a synch problem with my win live email account on Outlook about two weeks back. I've tried
- Repair on WIN 2011 essentials
- Checked for stuck outbox emails
- Repair on WIN Account
When I finally took the step to delete the account and re-add it - it won't synch at all - giving me the message "Windows Live Mail is synchronizing this account. Check back in a few minutes to read your messages. Still I get the system error ID above.
I'm running
- WIN 7 Pro, SP 1
- IE 11, SP 7
- Win Live Mail 2011, build 15.4

I have 4 email accounts I use in Window Live Mail. When I hit send and receive 1 accounts works and the other 3 get the 0X800488EB error. The account that work is a live.com email address, the other 3 are gmail.com address. I have tried several of the fixes lised in other threads with no success.

I have 3 accounts setup in Live Mail and 1 continues to work - two have failed!
I have deleted the accounts locally in users/appdata, tried repairing Live Mail, registering dlls (inipki.dll failed to register, mind you) so am at a loss as to what else I can do.
I can access these two accounts on another computer so this doesn't really make sense!
Any further suggestions would be really appreciated.
