I followed the instructions given to AnitaWolfe and was able to recover a previous version of my deleted folders. However, when I copied them into Windows Live Mail and clicked on them, I got the message "There is no item in this view".

I had restored them to my Desktop before I copied them in WLM and when I click on the folders on the Desktop, the messages are there but show in codes until I actually click on each individual message. Is there something that can be done to bring the messages in WLM and see the messages as they should appear.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

How do I stop it from trying every time I open up windows mail?

I just want to cancel it.

Running Windows 7, Windows Live Mail, using a primary email address with bellsouth.net.  I was getting messages that too many attempts were made to sign into my Live.com email address so it was frozen.  After I got it unfrozen again, my contacts and categories of contacts are gone-vanished. There were over 200 email addresses from church members to business associates.  Some of the contacts are still out on bellsouth.net account, but not all and there are no categories.  Is there a way to recover my categories and contacts?  I don't believe I've deleted them from my computer, but don't know how to find them within Windows Live Mail.  Please help!
I am helping a friend with his Windows Live Mail (comcast email account) which has been working but has suddenly stopped sending email. It still receives fine.  He is getting an "error 421 cannot connect to SMTP server / connect error 10060 / Windows error ID 0x800CCCC67."  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have two laptops.  The one loaded with Windows 8 has no problems sending and receiving email.  The problem lies with the Windows 7 model.  (same email account, same setups).  I have done all the suggestions (from all forums).  Now I just have no email.  Please help asap.

I am using Outlook.com as my email address. I then switched to the Windows Live Mail format because I prefer the layout and functionality of WLM.

Now, when I try to send or receive emails, I get an error message: Windows Live Mail Error: Ox 80048848.

Can someone please explain what the problem is here?

Thank you

Potchboy
