Original title: Mail 'send' fails (receive OK) ever since installing a Docsis 3 cable modem

Installation of the modem (Zoom 5341J) yesterday was no-problem, and all works exactly as before on my Win7 (64bit) ... except Win Live Mail refuses to send any messages.  There were no software or configuration changes.  The error message is:

The connection to the server has failed.

    Subject 'windows email test'
    Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 25
    Secure(SSL): No
    Socket Error: 10013

Comcast is no help.

An aunt of mine uses Windows Live Mail.  Most of her emails are arriving with the prefix "[SPAM]" in the subject line. Is there a way to make it stop doing that?

I receive my email from my Cox.net webmail account and these emails are automatically forwarded to my new Windows Live Mail email account.  Ever since upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium and the new use of Windows Live Mail for email, I continuously receive duplicate emails from various senders.  When I check my webmail account at Cox there are no duplicate emails listed.  Somewhere in the forwarding process either transmitting or receiving emails are being duplicated.  Cox has checked all the error possibilities on their end and believe this is a Microsoft problem.  Can anyone help with this problem?

thanks, SoonerSlim

windows live mail wants digital ID to send out mail? what setting do I set it at?
Every time I delete an e-mail Windows Live mail sets Flags. I want to completely stop this.

I have an ongoing issue that is becoming a HUGE problem.

I have changed a customer of mine to Outlook.com from Aol.com. We had to export my list of contacts from Aol, and then we had to add a bunch more from another list.

We now have a master list that is in an excel spreadsheet. I have saved this spreadsheet as a .csv file. I import the file into Windows LIve Mail because the import function in Outlook.com does not properly bring the email addresses over. The import goes FINE with Windows Live Mail (2012), and then everything is great.

Not all contacts are duplicated by many many are not just once but 3, 4 times each.

After SEVEN days, I begin to get duplicate contacts.

I thought this was an anomaly, so I deleted all the contacts, and started over.

SEVEN days later, the contacts began to duplicate again. These duplicates show up on OUtlook.com, Windows Live Mail, and the ipad, and iphone.

There are NO open connections to any other accounts that I can fine, can you?

I won't be able to continue using Outlook.com unless this gets resolved. Is there any way someone can call a MS engineer in to this problem to help find out what is going on? We are syncing to an Ipad and an Iphone but we are CERTAIN that iCloud is NOT turned on for contact, email or calendar sync.

I have just tried manually deleting contacts, and minutes later they reappear!!!

Please get back to us soon, I am out of business with what I do with email until this gets resolved. Thanks.

I was unable to post this issue using my customers account so I am trying with mine. Every time I hit the submit button down below it would not post, no matter what browser I was using!

I’ve been using win8 for several months.  I have set my  E-mail account on Windows Live Mail and it stopped sending E-mails, although it receives as usual. I did not make any changes to the proprieties of the account, nor did I remove my laptop from its original place.
Whenever I try to send a message, it generates a Windows live mail error ID 0X800CCC0B and the message stays as unsent on the outbox folder.
I suspect, but I am not sure, that this happened from the moment my Win 8 performed an automatic update on July18, 2013.
Can anyone help?
