Hi. I deleted a folder and a sub-folder by mistake. Need to restore it. Went to the link : C:\Users\hp\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
but now I can see only the sub-folder and just can't seem to find the mail folder and its content. I have even checked all the folders under Windows Live Mail but the folder (main) and its content couldn't be found. Please Help!!!!

Dated back on 10 August 2013, I have my Windows Live Mail creating duplicated folders on my laptop. When I removed the duplicated folders, all the mails inside the original folders were empty due to unknown issue.

I read the FAQ here but it does not work to recover the mail from the folders.

On 13 August I have contact Microsoft and talked to Nicholas on Aug 13, 2013 11:15:15 AM EST, which he referred to contact my regional Microsoft subsidiary.

The following day, I called up Microsoft Singapore to seek solution with Magaret Hansen. He provided me with the solution here, but it doesn't work out too. In the end, he requested me to post my question and request over here on 15 August 2013. I need to recover the mail as my insurance claim evidence related mail has been deleted and it need to be recovered to file my insurance claim.

Thank you for the kind assistance.
Since my O2 account migrated to sky I cannot send or receive email in the sky account I created in live mail. All the correct server info has been put in including correct ports but it just keeps asking for user name and password. Others appear to have had this problem on earlier sky migrations but sky are just washing their hands of it. Tip - never use sky.

Jerry,

Obviously NO ONE AT OUTLOCK IS LISTENING!  I have had Hotmail for 14 years and it was incredibly efficient.  Ever since the switch to "Outlook" e-mail and shortcuts have been major catastrophies.  It wasn't broke so why did Outlook "fix" it.

Taking lessons from Facebook I would assume.
I'm beginning to wonder if MS is trying to force us into buying something from them.

I too, have had Hotmail for years, since about '03, and about 4 yrs ago, I started using WLM (Windows Live Mail) because it allowed me to have access to both my accounts, it's HERE, on my computer along with all my folders and calendar, there are NO ADS, to soak up processor and memory.

The two previous posts on this forum have been about WLM being broken since this last update. It will hang up trying to upload my folders, and while it is doing THAT, everything else moves at GLACIAL speeds. :(
There have been no replies nor comments to any of my previous posts on here.

Windows Live Mail won't show the contacts that are in my contacts.  When the drop down menu appears, none of the contacts that I have are listed.  Can someone please help me?!?!?!?

I use Windows Live Mail for e mail with an address btinternet.com through BT Yahoo. I am now unable to send or receive e mails and get the following error message when opening Windows Live Mail: - "Unable to send or receive messages for the Peter & Margaret Bennie account. Windows Live Mail couldn't log on to the e-mail server using secure password authentication. Contact your e-mail provider and verify that it supports secure password authentication. To change this logon setting, in the folder list, right-click on the account name, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu. In the Properties dialog, click the Servers tab, and then under Incoming Mail Server, select a logon option.  Server Response: . Server: 'mail.btinternet.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC18 Protocol: POP3 Port: 110 Secure(SSL): No"
I have checked as instructed but despite switching off and the non the Secure Password Authentication button nothing improves the situation.
