My computer crashed on 8-28-13 and I installed a new hard drive on 8-29-13, and re-installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Prior to the crash, I had Windows Live Mail. I have completed the download of Windows Live Mail on the new hard drive, and I have set up the e-mail account for myself and my wife.
How to I retrieve all the "old" e-mails we had and our contacts list?????
I use Windows Live Mail 2012 16.4.3505.0912 and when I sort by subject - it displays by reverse date order. I'd like to be able to sort by subject and past to current date order. Is this possible and if so how please?
I also see from FileHippo's Update Checker that Windows Live Mail 2012 (16.4.3508) is available. Is there a place wherE I can see what is changed from ...3505 to 3508 please?
Does anyone have a neat way to backup the Sent folder from outlook.com? The Inbox can be copied easily to Windows Live Mail using POP3, but without IMAP I can't see any easy way to make an offline backup of the Sent folder.
I guess one possibility would be to bcc myself on all emails and then move emails from myself into a Sent folder in WLM with a rule, but I can't see any way to automatically bcc myself in outlook.com.
So does anyone know how to easily make an offline backup of the Sent folder?
Using Windows 7 with Windows Live Mail, I can synch with my Gmail account. It will accept incoming mail and send mail. However, my Outlook.com account will not synch at all with WLM. I tries continuously to synch calendar, but never progresses. I have tried deleting the account from WLM and reinstating it. The error I get is
Unable to send or receive messages for the Outlook (xxxxxxxxxxx) account.
Server Error: 3204
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003
I can log into OWA and see all my messages queuing, ready to download. I can send from OWA.
So, I deduce from the evidence that there is nothing wrong per se with my WLM installation nor with my Outlook.com account. It is a problem with synching between the two only.
I have done a registry scan to no avail.
I have scoured the community discussions and see that similar problems have occurred with different devices and operating systems, but can find no specific solution that helps me.
What else can I try?
