I'm on Windows 7

I've used Live mail 2011 calendar for over a year without ever signing in the calendar has all my important events/birthdays etc.

Since creating an account and signing in these have now all vanished and I have a blank calendar.

How can I restore my calendar to its previous state?

(I have run regular monthly backups to an external drive - will the original be stored on it ? if so where and how do I restore it)

thanks

Desperate Bob
I was using Windows Live Mail (2012) on my old computer and an older version of Windows to sent out lots of information for my netball club.  I had categorised contacts into categories.  I purchased an Asus computer which runs the latest version of Windows.  Since setting up my new computer with all the contact categories, I am finding that when I go to send something to a category that they are gone.  All my contacts are still in the mail list and the category is showing the number of contacts in brackets when I go to check, but when on click on 'edit category' there is nothing there and I have to save them all over again.  I resave them all and it might last for a few days to a week or more and then suddenly they are all gone again and I have to resave the categories.  Having 40 categories which are used on a weekly basis, this is becoming very annoying.  Any suggestions?????

For some reason Windows Live Mail has stopped functioning properly for send and receive.  Outgoing messages remain in the Outbox for 10 minutes or more, and sometimes don't send at all.  On send/receive, the green bar showing progress gets hung-up toward the end and just stays that way.  Eventually the messages will download, but it can take forever.  I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell XPS.

Can anyone help?  I've run a repair on Windows Live Mail, done virus scan, etc.

Thanks,
k.

Yesterday I upgraded my windows 8 to 8.1 and I noticed that Windows Live Mail stopped sending/receiving.

Before I started the upgrade everything was working fine!!!

Please help what should I do? I don't want to loose my mail history in live mail.

It displayed an error :-

'Unable to send or receive messages for the Shaw (rhmanning) account. An unknown error has occurred.

Server: 'pop.shaw.ca'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800C013E
Protocol: POP3
Port: 110
Secure(SSL): No'

I just downloaded Windows Essentials and started using Live mail. Received a good email from a gmail account that went to quick view but not to the email account I had set up ? Can I get some help on resolving this problem and/or is it related to gmail?

E mail has not worked for a while.  I went to hot mail. but I want to go back to my windows live mail.
Live Mail error ID 0x8DE20003
 Windows Live Mail Question

I use the Windows Live Mail (windows 7)  message rules to pick out the text line

Quantity remaining: 0

in my ebay email messages to flag up when I'm out of stock in something.
Note it has to be 4 spaces between the colon and the 0 for it to work.

I'd like to be able to pick out: Quantity remaining: 1 and other low numbers too. But then I get hits for 10, 11, 123 etc which I don't want.

The search feature isn't much good for this either. If I do a search for:
quantity remaining:
I get hits

but
quantity remaining: 1
I get no hits even though I know for sure the text string is there.

Anyone have any suggestions? Happy to pay $20 by paypal for the best solution to this problem!

How can I locate the storage folders I used with my last computer just 2 weeks ago in Windows Live Mail? Before purchasing a new one, I moved everything into folders there. Now ... I can't locate them. Help!
I am trying to move my email from an old desktop, running Windows XP, to a laptop, running Windows 7.  I  exported the email from Outlook Express and confirmed that a .dbx file was created for each folder in Outlook Express.   I loaded Window Live Mail onto the laptop but when I try to import the email into Windows Live Mail, many of the folders do not get imported and so much of my email is missing.
