If I use the facility 'Export Email Messages' in Windows Live Mail only 1 message is exported. I am trying to export from my old laptop which is in Windows 7 and transfer my messages via a USB Flash Drive to import on my new laptop which is Windows 8.1. Can you advise me the best way to do this. I transferred all my data using the 'East Transfer' app. which all transferred across OK but the transfer included Windows Live Mail messages which only transferred a few of my messages and no contacts. The contacts I have since been able to export and then import on my new laptop. Help...I do not want to lose these messages, they have information that I need to keep.

I have just completed a clean W7 reinstall. I backed up my Windows Live Mail messages (approximately 2.5gb) to a external hard drive and imported then back into a newly installed WLM. Unfortunately the email messages now have become corrupted.

The message headers appear to be correct, but the body of each message contains exactly the same text/message in each email. Is there a way to recover or correct this issue.

I lost all messages after WLM synch, after it show 0 messages in inbox, sent, junk and 2 I had set up.  There is a backup showing for date/time of synch at C:\users/(name)/appdata/roaming/microsoft/windows live mail.  I have tried to restore that backup.  It shows during process that messages are being restored, but when I open WLM, there are none in any folder. Why would it show retoring messages when they cannot be found after. Please, advice on the proper recovery process I should be using.
