Since yesterday, 1/12, I have not been able to send email (no replies, no forwarding, no new messages go out); however, I am still getting messages.  Anytime I try to send a message, it goes to my Outbox and stays there until I delete it.

With a message in my Outbox, when I try to send/receive email, I get the folowing error:

The conection to the server has failed

Subject 'testing my outgoing mail'

Server: 'smpt.comcast.net'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E

Protocol: SMPT, Port: 25

Secure(SSL): No

Socket Error: 10013

I got my last Microsoft updates on 01/09/2013, but I was still able to send messages on 01/11/2013; so I don't think this problem is due to updates.

When I log on to my email account on the comcast website, I am able to send messages from there.

I tried changing the port number to 587, which was a suggested possible solution, but this did not help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

When I access livemail I cannot download email and get the following message

Unable to send or receive messages for the Live (cahaywood) account.

Server Error: 0x80072EFF
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80072EFF

for over 2 weeks now i cannot send/receive messages using windows live mail 2012.

the following error message is shown:

" Unable to send or receive messages for the ... account.

Server Error: 3204
Server: 'https://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE20003 "

i read several users with similar problems, and tried different ways to recover and fix the issue, but nothing worked.

at first it was the issue of being stuck in "updating calendar". then i found a way to solve this by changing the name of the calendar folder and messing with the windows time.

i uninstalled and reinstalled live essentials.

i removed and re-added my hotmail account in windows live mail.

other email accounts work fine in wlm.

no changes had been made to my internet setup.

i did clear cache and temporary internet files.

i am using skype, now signed in via my microsoft account (if that makes a difference - but i had been using this before the problem started).

i am using a blackberry smartphone that is set up to receive hotmail emails - thats relatively new, but also, happened before the problems started.

please help!

thank you!

UPDATE: i did a system restore (windows 7) and this seems to have solved the problem. but im afraid to click on calendar in wlm, because i dont want to be stuck in "updating calendar" again...but as far as emails, it works.

I can not send email messages on WLM.  However, I can receive messages.  The messages are going to the out box.  WLM was working fine since I purchased the Dell computer in April 2012.  The problem started today, 8/29/12.  The email messages are one or two words in length.  I can send and receive messages on my COX webmail account.  The following is the error message I receive:

Can you help me.

Thanks.

It was a wrong address and it's been fixed, but I can't clear the message.  It keeps repeating.  I'm running under Windows 7.  Both the Sent and Outbox folders are empty.  I've checked the mail account settings and made sure that the outgoing server requires authentication.  What am I missing?

Here's the message (I've blocked out the original address):
