Original Title: Error on windows Live mail

Please can you help me.  I have installed Windows Live Mail on my laptop running on Windows 8. I have a POP3 e.mail account and I appreciate that this is a way that I can pull across e.mails over to my computer. I have all the correct pieces of information/settings on the incoming and outgoing servers, however, I keep on getting the error: id: 0x0800CCC0E and socket error 10013. I have tried everything I can for days now and am at the point of throwing me and my computer out of the window! I am not of course able to send or receive any e.mails. What do I need to do to allow me to send/receive e.mails correctly please?

Thanks,

Helen

Since yesterday, 1/12, I have not been able to send email (no replies, no forwarding, no new messages go out); however, I am still getting messages.  Anytime I try to send a message, it goes to my Outbox and stays there until I delete it.

With a message in my Outbox, when I try to send/receive email, I get the folowing error:

The conection to the server has failed

Subject 'testing my outgoing mail'

Server: 'smpt.comcast.net'

Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E

Protocol: SMPT, Port: 25

Secure(SSL): No

Socket Error: 10013

I got my last Microsoft updates on 01/09/2013, but I was still able to send messages on 01/11/2013; so I don't think this problem is due to updates.

When I log on to my email account on the comcast website, I am able to send messages from there.

I tried changing the port number to 587, which was a suggested possible solution, but this did not help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

When I send e-mails with windows live mail I get an error message that says----the connection to the server has failed, windows live mail error id 0x800CCC0E and socket error 10013. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.   Mark.
