Could you please help with the following issue?  I have a paid subscription to windows live mail (ie formally Hotmail and now outlook.com) and am unable to send an email with more than one photo in it. I have had this problem for the last few weeks since Sky-drive was changed to One-drive.

Solutions Attempted: I tried the 'fix-its' associated with some of the related forum threads and other solutions as well, including the following: I have checked and have confirmed that my pop settings are correct and that my firewall settings are not to blame.  I registered the correct dll files related to SSL and checked SSL, smpt, pop, and port settings, etc and these are all correct. I checked windows live communication policy settings in the registry and there are no issues with registry keys, etc.  I also removed my account and re-added my account and uninstalled/re-installed Windows Essentials, etc, removed all Windows Live registry keys and old email before reinstalling... and all of these attempts were  to no avail. The problem is still not resolved after trying all of the aforementioned solutions.

The problem occurs when sending an email with more than one photo... It gets stuck during the step of creating an album on One-drive... ie it is unable to upload the photos to one-drive for sending... I was able to do send more than one photo the very week before Sky-drive was changed to One-drive so I do not know if there are some different settings, etc... My father who lives out of state and has a completely different Windows Live paid account and is a completely different ISP,  etc, and also uses windows 7 called me for help with the very same issue... My son who also uses Windows 7 and windows live mail on his notebook computer (ie outlook.com) is also having the same issue ... ie not able to send more than one photo either as an attachment or as a photo album via the Windows Essentials Desktop Client..

Please note that I am able to send an email with 1 photo... but am not able to send more than one photo via the windows essentials client.  I am however able to send more than one photo when emailing directly from the server -( ie logged on to my account directly from the IE11 as well as the Firefox 29 browser window).  But when using the  Windows Live Client on my Windows 7 desktop computer I cannot send 2 or more photos via the photo album or as attachments in the same email. The email gets stuck in the process of creating a photo album on One-drive when trying to send an album.

Up until recently -- a few weeks ago -- I have always been able to send photo albums via the windows live client. I have changed no settings on my computer or on the Windows Essential Client since that time.. Then one day I tried sending an email with a photo album consisting of more than 1 photo and the email got stuck in my outbox. I tried sending more than one photo as an attachment and the email got stuck in the outbox. I tried sending more than one attached PDF documents and the email proceeded to be sent as usual. I tried sending one photo as an attachment and the email proceeded to be sent immediately as normal... Then I tried once more to send 3 photos as an album and the email got stuck in my outbox and was never sent...  The 2 other people I mentioned above tried this same test and are also able to send 1 photo but not more than 1 photo... This seems to be a problem uploading/syncing between the windows live mail client and Onebox on Windows 7.

Is there some way to resolve this issue quckly?

Thank you

I am a novice at computers. Being a person to follow instructions, I was advised by Microsoft to download latest version of windows essentials & that I did. In addition, I do not know how Skype got involved with this but they were suddenly on this update. After all was done I wanted to review my e-mails on my Windows Live Mail account & proceeded to click my normal icon on my start page. This gave me the desktop & I had a icon on bottom of task bar for windows live mail which is now whited out.  I clicked on that & an error message came up stating that Windows live mail was either removed, canceled or given a new name.  All I wish to do is find my e-mails  Can you help?

Stan

Hello. I've been searching different topics about this issue but I didn't manage to get over with this.

It all started from an automatic Windows Essentials update, when I opened WLM. The rest of my mails work fine, but the primary one seems to have this problem. I can't load any e-mail and when I click OK I'm prompted to some account changes that I can't understand. I successfully changed password but I can't get rid of this error.

I'm running a scan in safe mode right now, but I'm not sure wether it's caused by malware-virus or not, because I get the same error when I open WLM from my netbook. Just for the record, the mail is *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Thanks in advance.

Just updated Windows Essentials, Now get the Error code 0x800CCC08. Unable to send or receive messages for the Gmail (ianrthomson) account. Header download for the 'Inbox' folder did not complete. The connection to the server has failed.

I've been fighting a very slow Visual Studio problem for the past 4 hours and finally I figured out the problem.  I've been using VS 2013 express everyday for the past year. NOTHING changed on my machine from last night to this morning except I downloaded the latest essentials viral patch.

Visual studios is running way to slow, taking up to 20 seconds to start a program in the debugger, and another 10-15 seconds after stopping the program before the mouse will start working again.

I turned off the real-time protection and bam!  Everything is back to normal.  I turned real-time back on and Bam!  Problems again.  I rinsed and repeated this again with the same results.  Something is REALLY wrong with today's patch!

So if your machine is acting very sluggish you now know why.  DOes anyone know about this or if MS knows about another bad Esstiantials update?  After last weeks (or the week before) screw up XP's essential's patch this getting to be a bad routine to follow.

Dont' aske me what I selected the product that I did but as I had NO REAL choice that matches the problem of Windows Essentials. :(

And no, it is not my machine. I have 8GB of memory and plenty of disk space, I defragged trying to fix this, and this is definitely a problem with Essentials.  Also, I am running a complete scan hoping that perhaps something will help but at 80% complete so far it has not helped.

Trying to set up email using comcast.net account. Have successfully received email, but cannot send. I get this error message:

The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'test'
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10060

I have tried deleting email account and re-adding. I have tried repairing Windows Essentials, I have talked to ISP tech support. This is Windows 7, by the way.

A few days ago, I got a notice that a Windows Essentials update was available. I ran the update, and Windows Live Mail 2012 became unable to download email from any of my email providers, including Comcast and Gmail. No error message - just the timeout "wait or stop" pop-up. Eventually, WLM would stop responding. I ran a system restore, and WLM is back to downloading email as expected.

I'm running Windows 8.1, although I have not yet been able to install the recent 8.1 update (another frustrating story).

Any one run into the same issue after the Essentials update, and if so, was it resolved?

Thanks!

I though windows live messenger was dead but when i updated windows essentials came up. I'm not sure so don't be annoyed if I'm incorrect but i though it became Skype or something like that. I wonder why i got it

Since I updated Windows Essentials about a week ago, movie maker will not work right. It pauses randomly between clips, but it shows that it's still playing. So I have to exit out of it and start it up again. Then after having to do that a few times, it stops working all together (usually when I try to edit a clip or the music). And sometimes it even freezes my entire laptop, causing me to have to shut it down and reboot, losing all the work I just did. It worked fine before the update, and I can't pinpoint whats exactly wrong. The files that I'm using are all wmv and the music is in wav.
