We have an issue in the office regarding personal settings. Our admin uses custom colors in our events calendar ( which is a shared calendar) to identify different departments in the company, events, etc. As you may already know, the custom colors show up for our admin because she was the one who set the catagories on her computer. However, for everyone else in the office, because they do not have the same color catagories that admin does, the colors do not show up for them. We know that CodeTwo CatMan is the perfect add in for us, but the current location of our calendar does not allow us to utilize this add in.

Other minor issues include;

1. Wanting to send a week reminder for birthdays( which is an event in the shared calendar) to only admin, not anyone else involved in the calendar

2. When a vacation(which is identified by someones intials, color coded to show which department they are from, and is in shared calendar) is noticed, 1 day before the person goes on vacation, we want a notification to send only to that person to change their email to "out of office".

Is there a way to grant delegate access only for the events calendar? Would this allow everything to show up the same for anyone ( and would it solve any of our minor issues?) We still want all the employees to be able to have control of everything in outlook, except this one calendar.

my husband and i both have hotmail/live.com accounts, which were upgraded to outlook this year. we want to be able to view each other's calendars. we have each 'shared' our own calendar with the other via our exchange accounts and accepted each other's share by clicking 'accept' on the email we each received. BUT for the life of me, i can't see where to see my husband's calendar from within my hotmail account. where is it??? i don't want to have to log into his hotmail account every time i want to see his calendar!

We have a shared calendar managed by a user with Outlook 2010.  Accessing the shared calendar with Outlook 2010 shows items with their categorization. When you access the calendar from Outlook 2011, you see the calendar items but the categorization is missing.  Is this a limitation with Outlook 2011? or is there a setting we need to enable?

Thanks!

We are a mixed Windows and Mac environment.  I have a user who has created a sub folder - calendar which she has shared.  The people who are using Outlook 2010 on Windows can access the shared calendar just fine.  Users running Outlook 2011 on Macs cannot access the shared calendar.  The sharing invitation includes an xml attachment that Outlook 2011 cannot process.  Any suggestions for getting access to this shared sub folder calendar would be appreciated.

Thanks!

All, i have created a shared mailbox and given full access permissions to few users out of which one is using Office for Mac. this user can't create an appointment in shared calendar. every time user creates something it is created in default/own calendar and there is no option to change calendars. Color categories are not syncing either. Windows users doesn't have a problem. Am i missing something here? I am using Exchange 2010.
I have shared my calendar with my boss. Now she sees everything on my calendar, even the us holidays, and contacts birthdays, stuff she doesn't really need to see. How can i set it to show only works stuff?

    Thanks,
    Pyro

Hi, I have clients using Office365 exchange accounts in Outlook 2011 for Mac. They asked for a public shared calendar that all staff can see. I created a shared mailbox for the public calendar. I added the calendar to each person's Outlook2011, created a test appointment, everyone saw it. So far so good.

BUT next day the editors could no longer create appointments unless they went through the "open new calendar" process all over again, and the reviewers could no longer see new appointments being added unless they also re-opened the calendar. They could however all see the old appointments.

I've checked settings/permissions for their local install of Outlook2011, checked settings/permissions on the server, everything looks fine. Once they re-open the calendar it works perfectly. But they are not happy at having to remember to re-open it every time they logon in order to be able to use it.

Is there a way to make sure once the calendar is opened it will retain the settings without having to be re-opened the next day?

    Any ideas? Help much appreciated!

I have an existing (inherited) Shared Calendar folder with several sub-folders that work well in MS-Outlook 2011. When I select my Shared Calendar folder, the New Calendar icon goes dark (inactive).  How can I create a new Shared Calendar folder?
    I'm confused on two counts.

Firstly, is there a difference between Group Calendar and Shared Calendar?  I have seen both terms used in my research but am not sure if they really mean the same thing.....?

And secondly, all I want is to be able to sure and view Calendars with my colleagues (of which there are only 3) in Outlook 2011 for Mac.
I've just looked at Exchange Online, Exchange Server and then Office 365 but it I'm not clear about the following:

Do I have to buy Microsoft Exchange AND Office 365 or is Exchange included in 365???

Or is there any other solution for my very simple needs?

Any help much appreciated but this novice who is trying to learn fast!
