Connection Error – Android native email (active sync)

30. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Active Sync, Connection Error, Outlook account
Hi, I have just started using the xperia z1's native email app to sync with my Outlook account. At first it worked perfectly, but after a day of use it stopped syncing. I tried removing my account and adding it again and also reconfiguring the incoming server settings, but it still cannot sync. Now a connection error comes up.

Any way I can fix this? Thanks.
The account experiencing this problem is this one I am using to post.

Why am I not receiving emails?

29. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: Outlook account, Why am I not receiving emails
So recently I have been having trouble with my outlook account on not receiving emails?

I first come across this problem about not receiving emails when I had to contact AMD support about the "never settle bundle"  because I was not getting my game codes even though they said that they had sent them to me on 3 different occasions (pictures below)

As you can tell by the pictures, They have sent an email to my account on 3 separate dates but I have not received these emails.

Along with this problem I have had various emails go missing which I don't know why for.

can anyone help with this problem?

Hello,

I need help closing my hotmail.com account. The system is asking me to deactivate my billing account ?

You need to deactivate your Hotmail account. Once you've done that, your Microsoft account will be closed automatically after a period of inactivity.

Then I got the following message :

Deactivate your Outlook account

To close your Outlook account, you must first cancel your billing service. Go to Microsoft Account and Billing Services at https://billing.microsoft.com.

I can't find any way to cancel this billing account...

Sending from outlook on behalf of another account

I have my account set up so that I am able to send from my outlook account on behalf of a different email account.  The email I currently have set as the default is now closed though, so I'm wondering how to delete this so that my emails from outlook will no longer have this old email address on them.

My outlook account was hacked and my account verification form was rejected

My Outlook.com email account has been hacked.  My password has been changed, my recovery phone number has been changed, and my recovery alternate email address has been changed.  I am unable to provide much information in the account verification form because I had not started using the account yet - I can't remember whether I had sent an email yet, and I didn't make any changes to folders or contacts.

I know the previous alternative email address, and the previous password, but this was not enough to pass the automated verification system.

However, I know a couple more important pieces of information which the form does not allow me to provide:
  • I know the previous recovery phone number that was associated with the account
  • I can tell you the date and time when the hacker requested a password reset code - because I unexpectedly received this code on my phone - I can provide this code)
  • I know the exact date when I created the account

My Outlook Account has been blocked

I received an email to say that my Outlook Account has been blocked because they thought that somebody was using it to send SPAM.
I need to send emails to groups in my contacts on a regular basis and these mail recipients are expecting to receive this information.
How do I prove that I am not sending SPAM and How do I stop this from happening again because I send to these group contacts regularly?
I followed the link to verify my account, which I did and I still cannot unblock the account

Outlook account setup won’t accept port 993 for incoming mail?

27. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: incoming mail, incoming mail port, mobile device, Outlook account, Outlook account setup

Trying to set up Outlook account in order to sync email between computers.  Currently using WLM on both machines.  ISP is Charter.net.  Charter requires that this be set up as if it is a mobile device (it otherwise won't give access to the smtp server).  Using their mobile setup requires that incoming mail port be set to 993.  That option is not available in the Outlook setup.  It does however fix the smtp problem, but creates this new one which I cannot change to 993 in the Outlook setup.  I really want to stay with MS, and don't want to be forced to use Gmail to do this.  Can this be done?

Also, when I upgrade to Win 8, will I still be able to use this Charter POP3 setup?  Thanks a bunch!

Business Emails not being received in hotmail / outlook account

26. September 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: Hotmail, Outlook.com · Tags: business email, business Emails, hotmail, Outlook account

My business emails that I send to customers who use hotmail / outlook are not being received.

This is a recent occurrence, over the last month.

My business email accounts are POP, hosted and serviced by site5 hosting.

I use Mac mail.

I have also tried WebMail from the same account but again, to no avail.

I have spoken to the hosting company numerous times and have been through all avenues their and our end.

There is no bounce back. All emails are successfully sent.

They are just not received at all via the hotmail / outlook account.

I have seen lots of complaints about this, but never a clear answer.

I really need this problem rectifying as it's having a direct negative affect on my business and customer relations.

Kind Regards,

Andy
