The account I am trying to close is this one, the one I used to make this community profile. I went into account settings and then I clicked on "close account." It said I have to deactivate my Hotmail account first and then it will automatically close
my Microsoft account after a while of inactivity. Whenever I click on "deactivate Hotmail account," I am only redirected to MSN. If I try to go back to outlook.com, it open my email normally, as if I never closed or deactivated anything. Why am I getting redirected
to MSN when I click "deactivate Hotmail account?"
I am trying to close/delete some old, duplicate MSN/Windows accounts. When I try to close them it says I must deactivate my hotmail account; however, when I try I am given the following message:
Deactivate your Outlook account
This option isn't available for your account.
What is the process for closing the account if I am not allowed to deactivate my hotmail/outlook.com account?

I activated Outlook.com for email. I do not like it and want to deactivate email ONLY. When I click "close account" it threatens to close my entire Microsoft account which deletes my Xbox Live and all other Microsoft related services. I DO NOT want
to delete all of this and just want to deactivate the outlook.com email. Microsoft didn't even know how to do this and directed me here...anyone....help?

I've been trying to deactivate my account with the steps Microsoft gives me. There's no problem getting to the screen where I can click "deactive your Hotmail account", but from there on I'm stuck. It should direct me to a page with more info about what
happens when I deactivate and then give me the possibility to do so.
Instead, it directs me to msn.com main page with no extra nfo. The only thing I can do there is to go back to my settings and to the "deactivate your Hotmail account" button which leads me back to www.msn.com and so on...
I would like some support in this asap.

About a week ago I was trying to deactivate my old Microsoft account and was having trouble. I think I finally managed to get the account to deactivate and would just like someone to check if the account has been deactivated and will be deleted after 365
days of not been used.

I tried the same thing around 3 years ago and it clearly it did not work.

I tried to close my account yesterday and got some error about there was a problem with the server. Today, when I try to close my account, it tells me that I need to deactivate my account. When I try to deactivate my account it keeps sending me back
to the login screen.
