Question about Outlook Express

somehow demon alcohol took advantage of me and apparently i clicked on the dropdown arrow to the left of a friend's avatar an hid hers.  actually all of them :(  the box is now gone.  I cannot believe short of i got hacked, that msn live messenger is this unforgiving.  Gone through all options on her page and my msn messenger home page, don't see how to undo my sin.  any help?  how do i get that dropbox option back?
