I changed my date of birth as a privacy concern...do not see why Microsoft needs to know that...Gmail doesn't ask for that nor does AOL...and now I am locked out of my email account because I "need a parent's permission".   It gets worse.  As directed by Microsoft support, went to this site for the  moderator to fix this problem but got the same message, "need a parent's permission".  Gets even worse.   Used my wife's account to log on to get to this forum and now I can no longer Log on under my account...I get automatically logged on on her account.  Moderator I know this is Microsoft's bug not yours, but It's flat out ridiculous.  Sorry to vent.  Need your help.  Thanks in advance.

Hello, I've started using Skydrive, after Microsoft annihilated Live Mesh and bought additional storage, just to see that Microsoft is cutting down (again) the functionality I paid for.

Now in Windows 8.1 there is no Skydrive Desktop application, just system shell. I find the concept really nice, but it works awful and doesn't support any of my use-cases. I am thinking of switching a cloud provider, but before that I would like to ask some questions about the "new" skydrive.

1. Will I be able to create a Skydrive on another drive than C: (will it be supported)?

2. Will I be able to use symbolic links to synchronize any folder I want?

3. Is there going to be any dashboard to resolve syncing issues besides that crappy one in the Skydrive modern app?

4. Why skydrive application is better on MacOS and is so terrible on the newest Windows 8.1? Why do You neglect users who actually buy Your products?

5. If I'm not satisfied with the future product, is there any way I can get my money back?

Note - I'm using Windows 8.1 RTM, not preview.

Hi,

I am writing on behalf of my sister-in-law who has Multiple Sclerosis and is confined to a wheel chair. She has had her Hotmail account for about 10 years, maybe  more.

Recently, she has been unable to access her Hotmail account. I am not sure if this had anything to do with the Outlook upgrade or not.  I helped her with the form but she was unable to remember enough and Microsoft denied  her request for assistance.  The form is OK for healthy people, but it seems Microsoft won't go the extra step to help people with disabilities.  I called Microsoft support and received no help at all. Surely there must be a way to help her.

I am concerned that she will lose everything. Being confined to a wheelchair with such a debilitating disease, Hotmail means a lot to her as it provides a way to be in contact with family and friends.

I am hoping that someone from Microsoft will read this and help her gain access to her account.

My Hotmail account was hacked.  Microsoft previously provided me with a link to reset my password, but the hacker has inserted his email address into my Security Info. page.  This means that every time I tried to reset my password and regain control of my account, the hacker received notification of the password change.  All he had to do was click on a link to invalidate my password again and again.  I tried deleting his email address off my Security Info page, but have to wait 30 days for this to take effect.  On Sept. 18, Microsoft should remove his email address from my Hotmail account.  However, I need a link from Microsoft in order to retrieve the last of my saved emails and forward them to my new email address.  I have repeatedly proven my ownership of the account to Microsoft and have even given them the names of several people who authored the remaining emails.  Microsoft has CLOSED my case and will not provide me with another link.  It is imperative that I get the remaining emails forwarded to my new account as they represent years of research concerning a disability claim I have pending.  Please, would someone help me?  If you can contact me privately, I would be glad to give you all of the details to prove my identity.  Thank you.

Hi There,

i have a situation here and i would like someone from the Microsoft to email me directly as it is a sensitive issue which could be leading to a civil law case.

Is there anyway we can prove that the email was sent by user and not being hacked, as according to Wikipedia; hotmail are using a single-use code; hence it means the code is being used by one user only and even if he or she is signed on a public computer, a single use code helps to keep account information secured.

I really need some assistance.

Thanks

J

I am blocked out of one of my hotmail accounts. Microsoft keeps saying it will send a code to a different email so I can get in, but I have not received a code. This is extremely frustrating!

I am having a lot of problems with the interconnectivity of Windows Live Mail, MSN (Outlook), Bing and Facebook. The Microsoft entities don't synchronize and Facebook doesn't accept the password change that was required when I made changes in contact numbers of my MSN profile. That is when everything started going haywire and got me locked out of my MSN account for hours. I am starting to feel like the best solution to remove or disable Windows Live Mail, Bing desktop and keep Facebook completely isolated from my Microsoft components. Deleting the components concerns me because of interconnection of other Windows Live programs in my computer. Until the Outlook issues are worked out there is no way I would pursue the link I found (pasted below) on the Bing search engine. My Android phone may have been part of the problem the day I got locked out of my MSN account, just by being linked to the account for current inbox status. I don't claim it is a part of the problem, just something to be considered when these synchronization issues are being pursued.

Add Outlook.com email, your free email account from Microsoft, to your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android phone, or Windows Phone.

I would like to hear some solutions or some feedback on making these programs function properly.
Thanks
I registered a domain (using a test domain thankfully) in Windows Live Admin Center and imported an existing test Microsoft account to use with it.

I wanted to test the process for removing the domain and continuing to use the Microsoft account as a regular account in case I ever need to migrate away from WLAC for email.

The mailbox for that account is no longer available and that is expected. However, contacts/People also no longer works for that account. I either get an infinite-looping redirect, or an outlook.com-branded error page. This is not expected since contacts/People feature works on Microsoft accounts that do not have mail services (using "email as sign in only").

Note: the Microsoft account with the issue is different than the account used to post this topic.

I am planning to migrate from Google Apps to WLAC with Outlook.com mail but I need to make sure that if I ever need to migrate from WLAC for whatever reason in the future, that the Microsoft accounts registered for the domain can continue using critical features (expect for mail obviously) of the Microsoft account such as contacts/People.
