Setting up payment account for Store

I live in Australia and have set up my Microsoft account showing Australia as my home address

But when I try to set up a payment account for the Store my location default to United Kingdom and all prices in the store are in UK pounds

Can you advise how I can change this to Australia

I'm using a different email than my own to post this. My email - *** Email address is removed for privacy *** - was hacked and my password and security question have been changed. I went through the online process of submitting a form with questions about my email and Microsoft account but it was rejected. I now have another case number to go through the same process again. I do not have access to my email or my son's Xbox and somebody has access to a wealth of my personal information. If the online process isn't working to get this fixed, what else can be done to resolve this?

I am trying to reset my password. When I enter the characters in the box and click agree, another box for characters pops up. I have also tried to set up a new account and the same thing happens with the box of characters.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a solution?

Sync problem with my personal (desktop) skydrive and win 8 login being different

I've got a work laptop with win 8 where I log in with my corporate work account (not a microsoft account). When I open the skydrive desktop app it won't sync with my personal microsoft account (ie not the corporate account that I log on to the pc with), and there is no login available under the settings tab (it's greyed out).

Doesn't it work to logon to the pc with one account and use skydrive with my personal microsoft account at the same time?

I recently had to reset my computer to the factory settings which caused me to loose everything. When I was setting up my Microsoft account I entered an incorrect e mail address. Thus, I can't verify the email account. I made several attempts to correct this but was unable. I tried to set up an alias account with the correct email address and I keep getting a message stating that address is unavailable. What can I do to elevate this problem and set up my account with the correct address??? This is causing a problem with several functions on my Windows 8 because when I attempt to enter several communities , I keep getting this "verify e mail" massage.

My Microsoft Account (outlook.com) stopped syncing on my Nokia Lumia 920 this past Monday. It works fine through my web browser (http://www.outlook.com). Does this have something to do with the "bay-m.hotmail.com" as my Server on my phone?

Solved “This account can’t be used to access Outlook.com…” issue

Hello everyone,

As many of you are encountering this problem (office365 bull****) I thought I would give you my way of resolving it.

First I d like to clarify what my issue was to make sure you fit into the category:
Essentially yesterday I began linking my e-mail accounts through forwarding between gmail and outlook to have all my e-mails in one place and what not. At this point I also created a new Alias that belonged to my school e-mail "@students.uu.nl ".

What I did then was make my student e-mail my PRIMARY ALIAS.

Right after doing this I could no longer log into my Hotmail/outlook account as a result of this "This account can't be used to access Outlook.com..." error.

Now, at first I did not realize what in the world was going on and since my e-mail is not "@sample.edu" format and since it never even used Microsoft account (it uses gmail actually ...where it works perfectly) I was very frustrated because I did not use office 365 nor did I use a edu e-mail and thus I did not fall into any of the categories on how to resolve the problem. (clearing cache etc..).

After lots of researching and trial and error I discovered that indeed my school has some sort of link to microsoft but its just never used nor advertized.

At this point in order to fix the problem all I did was sing in to the microsoft account ( the one you use to post here), went into Settings-> Account aliases --> and I removed my school e-mail as my primary alias.

Afterwards my hotmail/outlook e-mail worked just fine!

However I believe this will only work in certain cases which are similar to mine.

I have recently received an email on my gmail account that states:

Your Microsoft account has been renamed. We just wanted to check with you that it's okay.

- Old account name: my gmail account name

- New account name: a live.com account name not associated with me

If this is correct, you don't need to do anything.

If this is incorrect, please follow these steps:

1. Reset your password by going to https://account.live.com/password/reset

2. Rename your account by going to https://account.live.com/

Shortly after that I received another email saying the account name had been changed from the new one to a completely different one at outlook.com

I am concerned first because my gmail account was listed and that is where I received the email from "Microsoft account team". I have already changed my password on my gmail account but what other steps do I need to take to insure my accounts are safe?

I have a new laptop running on windows 8. I signed up for and am using a Microsoft account to sign into the laptop. No problem. When I try to download from the app store, open skydrive, or open the people app, I am advised that my password is incorrect. I have changed it several times trying to remedy the problem. I am using the same email address. Any help would be appreciated.
