Hello

I have just received the following email from *** Email address is removed for privacy *** at Microsoft Security Team. Is it real or is it a scam?

Due to congestion in all Windows Live Mail user accounts, your account will be suspended in order to prevent unwanted spyware and bots using our customer's accounts.

In order to verify your e-mail and lift the suspension limit, please use this link below to verify:

Link removed

The limit applied on your account will be lifted as soon as your account information is verified.
After this process  , you may use your e-mail account as usual. Microsoft Account Security Team.

Is this actually the hotmail team, or is someone spamming me?

I have just received an email notifying me of the following:   Dear Hotmail Customer ([My email address]) ,  We are sending this e-mail to inform you that your e-mail account has excedeed it's sending and receiving limit in the last 7 days. Due to this , we have to suspend your account in order to prevent unwanted bots and spyware using our customer's accounts. In order to verify your account and lift the suspenion limit, please verify your account information on the link below:  http://www.hotmail.com/msn-unsuspend-account/verify- [My email address ] /index-3580-sl67 The limit applied on your account will be lifted as soon as you verify your account. After verification , you may use your e-mail account as usual. Microsoft Account Security Team.   But... my email is working perfectly. I can send and receive emails with no problems. I can sign in and out. I'm also concerned that I cannot find reference to account suspension in the help section. I do not want to follow a link and put my details into it unless I know for certain that it is the genuine article.   The email also generated a "Attachments, pictures and links in this message have been blocked for your safety" warning, and if this is from the hotmail team, why would it do that?   Thank you. I hope I have put this in the right topic.
