I have a user running OS X 10.6.8 and Office 2011 for Mac Outlook v. 14.2.3 . Previously this user was on Entourage with Office 2008 for Mac. We are using an Exchange 2007 server. This user is on a MacPro.

The problem is the user is frequently getting messages that the Outlook database needs to be rebuilt.  When then problem started this happened once a month. This became once a week and now is several times a week, if not daily.

Sometimes it happens when they open Outlook, other times it happens after they have been using Outlook for several hours.

Does anyone know what is causing this? What can be done to stop this from reoccurring?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I have Outlook 2011 set up as my primary e-mail on my MacPro desktop. I recently set it up  on my laptop for traveling. The laptop account will receive mail but it won't send mail. It displays a variety of error messages like "relay not permitted".

I have tried changing the settings for the outgoing server, but nothing seems to work.

I would appreciate any advice
I have Outlook on my MacPro and a live.com e-mail account. I have been able to access my e-mail on wireless networks--at home or as a guest--without difficulty for several months now. This morning I have encountered trouble getting into my live.com account. iPhone works for the account and other programs accessing the internet from my Mac are working well. I have deleted the account and reloaded it but still get an error (3259) which states "An operation on the server timed out. The server may be down, overloaded, or there may be too much net traffic." Any ideas on what is happening here and what I should do? Thanks!
