I no longer have a functional SkyDrive on my laptop. This is on a Windows 8 laptop, but on my other laptop, Surface RT and Windows Phone, it still works fine.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall, but the process seems incomplete. In addition, I don't have a system tray icon that I can access to perform advanced functions.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times now. Whenever I do that, it seems to successfully run both ways, but I never get the Sys Tray icon back (and I have also checked Hidden). In addition, both the desktop client (and File Explorer view), as well as the Skydrive Tile, open up to empty folder. They also never show the sync status in the icon, just the cloud icon directly.

I am running Windows 7 (Home Premium) on my desktop and laptop and using Windows Live Mail as my calendar. I usually enter calendar events on the desktop calendar. When I am signed in to Windows live mail, (on the laptop) the events show up on the laptop, but when I sign out, they go away. I tried retyping the events, but the calendar on the laptop insists on putting them onto the web calendar, not my local one. Is there any way (without jumping through hoops) that I can get the info from the online Live calendar into my laptop calendar? I have googled all over the internet, but couldn't find anything that clearly said what to do.
I cannot open my emails on outlook via my laptop for the past week.  The square check box next to the email that you normally tick to open an email has disappeared.   I cannot open the folders on my laptop either.  I thought my account had been hacked so I have followed the links and added security but nothing has changed.  When I log in the blue timer circle is always there as though it is trying to do something.  I can access emails on my iphone. Please help!
I use internet explorer (I think) for the account and have other gmail accounts I run through chrome -  I have no trouble with them.
Any suggestions as to how i can solve this problem and get all my emails on my laptop.
Thanks

I installed on my desktop and noticed the version was different on my laptop. so uninstalled on the laptop.  Have made several attempts to install and never got as far as being able to select which items I wanted to install.

This is Windows 7 Pro x64, it's my work laptop so I can't go do Windows Update with it, but I couldn't when I installed the previous version.  It's almost up-to-date with Windows updates.

There wasn't a Windows Live folder in c:\program files, or c:\program files\common files, I did remove the various Windows Live folders in the appdata folder.

The error was 0x80040c2a 'WaitForCatalog'.  No problems downloading other things this morning - Internet seems quite zippy.

Frustrated, off to see if an altenative IMAP client exists.

Our laptop is used by the family, so there are a number of user id's (email addresses) that come up when one of us clicks on the box to enter

our individual address. Unfortunately, when some of the email addresses were originally entered in the set-up process, mistakes were made in

the spelling or construction. These were corrected and re-entered, but the incorrect entries remained. Subsequently, when one of us clicks on

the address box to bring up the list of our email addresses, all the incorrect ones are there as well. How can I remove them?

Suddenly cannot send with WLM on both laptop and desktop.  Comcast.net e-mail account.  Receiving fine but when trying to send the connection fails.   Error 0x800CCCDE.  Any ideas?
Several days a go while reading my emails though my Hotmail Widows Live Mail account on my laptop a message appeared saying something like account being re-configured at that point a lot of my sent emails disappeared from the sent folder, since then the system has been trying to reload all my messages  back into my laptop, this is using up a lot of my data allowance and is not necessary as the majority are already stored in my laptop. The question is how can I stop the download?

Many thanks to who ever can help.

Michael Winters,

Australia.
I do not have a way to access my live, com account. I tried going to hotmail.com but it does not appear to work.
When I opened my laptop this morning my outlook was completely blank - no folders, no contacts, nothing - no account. How can this happen? How can I get it back?
