I was upgraded from Hotmail to Outlook.com. I've had a few issues with Outlook.com; some resolved, some not. With Hotmail there were never any issues. I was just thinking what is the difference between Outlook.com and Outlook Express, as the Express
looks more like Hotmail to me and, perhaps, it would be easier to work with. I'm not interested in social media being part of my email account. This is an urgent issue for me.
I recently transferred my account from hotmail to outlook as suggested, keeping my hotmail email address.
For some reason I can no Longer access historical emails - any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Why is it that I can still sign in with my Hotmail ID, or use a Outlook ID? I never had anything to notify me when I wouldn't be able to use my Hotmail ID anymore, but have still lost everything that was in my account and folders!
I recently lost all my messages and have gained no help whatsoever in retrieving them, I asked questions for them to be passed over or locked. Will no-one actually help people on here?
I have been locked out for 1 week and been unable to "re-activate" my account using password re-sets, code activation using my alternate email address.
1) The automatic code reactivation has not been sent to the correct address despite resetting this data for you.
2) The submission of sample email headers, addresses, mother's birthplace, previous passwords, credit card data and even current XBox live data has not been enough to prove that I am the owner of the same account. An account that has been active for over 10 years!!!!
You have hidden behind an automatic process that has not even allowed me to succeed!!!
I have:-
1) tried to use a code finally sent to my alternate email address via this 'newly created' Hotmail account without success!!!
2) been refused to acknowledge the 3 new passowrds that I have tried to re-activate my account with!!!
3) been refused to continue with the re-activation process stating that I have tried too many times!!!!
You have my existing data, emails and addresses, stored files. !!!!!
You have seriously interrupted my current business activities, you are costing me money by preventing my clients form contacting my persoal email address!!!!
You have reneged on your commitment to secure services and in actual fact are certainly to be criticized for fraudulent supply of software.
I demand to have a HOTMAIL technician deal with this complaint as I have spent hours trying unsuccessfully to get the process done myself and yet it is clearly designed to prevent me from succeeding despite my submission of as much personal proof data as possible.
WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR YOU FOLKS TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE HOLDING CLIENTS TO RANSOM BY PREVENTING SUCCESSFUL RE-ACTIVATION????
WHAT WILL YOU DO TO MAINTAIN MICROSOFT'S REPUTATION.
THIS IS APPALING AND I AM BITTERLY ANYGRY TO BE DEALT WITH IN SUCH A FLIPPANT MANNER.

I have used Hotmail for years and been happy and now I am getting Junk mail in my inbox despite the most secure settings to prevent it. I cannot go on like this and will have to switch if this is not corrected! Please help!
Hi, Hotmail settings are in English. I live in Spain. Hotmail autocorrects such that if i type in an english word hotmail will change this into a similar spanish word. also i get a red squiggly line under every english word i type (unless of course the
word is for example Madrid which hotmail recognises as a spanish word. How can i turn this off? thanks

I never deleted my first email from Hotmail Staff, Welcome to MSN Hotmail. It still shows up on outlook.com but the body is missing. When I first installed Windows Live Mail 2012, it initially appeared in the list but after downloading all the emails it
subsequently disappeared. Why? And how to get it back?
I'm a legacy Hotmail user that got switched kicking and screaming to Outlook. I've since learned to deal with Outlook email rather than change my Hotmail email address.
- I no longer have the highlighter icon in my formatting toolbar and cannot highlight any text in emails. I also cannot find how to add that icon to the toolbar. Note that I am a Hotmail user that just got switched to "Outlook" and do not have or use any Outlook calendaring functions, etc. I only use it for email and it looks almost like my old Hotmail except for the missing highlight icon and functionality. Thanks.
- Although I have selected "Arial " as my default email composing font, in just about every email I write, I find Outlook automatically switching me to the Calibri font at a line break or a paragraph break all the time. It happens just about at least once or twice in any email of more than 10 lines or 2 paragraphs long. I can't figure out what's causing it since there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason - just at line and paragraph breaks. It is a PAIN to have to keep going in and resetting the font style once or twice per email!'
