Hi,

I use my outlook account once in a while, but have definitely been on within the last 270 days. When the switch occurred from hotmail to outlook, all of my msgs were deleted. I tried to recover them via "recover deleted files" at the bottom of the delete tab in my email, and nothing was recovered. I am very frustrated that during a switch I did not allow all my email were wiped.

Please offer a suggestion if possible as to how i can revert to hotmail or retrieve my emails that were wiped without my consent.

Thanks!

I have been trying for the past hour to cancel my Hotmail account. I get to the step about needing to cancel my 'billing services'. I have no idea what this is talking about. I have had this email for 10 years and I simply want to cancel the account. I have never added any type of bill to this service. Can someone help my delete my Hotmail account please!!

We have a number of Sharp printers in our Public Libraries, recently public users have complained that scanned images sent from the printers are no longer being received in their Hotmail and Outlook.Com accounts. We have investigated and tested this and are getting the same results. E-mails are being received by other e-mail systems including Exchange and G-mail.

We have traced the e-mails from the Sharp printers and have confirmed that they are being sent to our Exchange Servers and then on to our cloud filtering service (Symantec.Cloud). We have confirmed with Symantec that the e-mails are being sent to Hotmail and Outlook.com but they are receiving a failure error message from Hotmail and Outlook.com.

Symantec’s advice to us is: “As the mails were blocked by the recipient mail server I would advise you to contact them directly to discuss the issue and ask them to investigate the reason they blocked the mails. We did not block the mails and do not know what part of it that hotmail have rejected for not being RFC 5322 compliant. The only people in position to explain why the mails was blocked is hotmail”

We have also discussed the issue with Sharp and they are not aware of anything that would cause the issue.

Can anyone assist, currently we have had to put notices in our Libraries advising the public that there is an issue with Hotmail accounts.

Hi, I have an Outlook.com account using my own custom domain - *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. The account is about 3-4 years old now and was formerly working using the Hotmail branding, and before then it was an Office Live account. I have been using it in Outlook.com for some time now.

However, I've just noticed that the account is now sending email as an alias on behalf of my email address.  i.e. from: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***; on behalf of; George Fradley <*** Email address is removed for privacy ***>

This is new behaviour which has started in the last few days - an email I sent at the end of last week is correct. This behaviour is exhibited using my Android mobile and using www.outlook.com web based email. I have also just noticed that an alias exists in my Outlook.com account - *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. When I try to delete it I get a message "Before you can remove this alias, choose another one to be your primary alias."

However when I use Outlook desktop to send email from this account (using Hotmail connector for Outlook), the behaviour is slightly different again. In this case the email appears to have been sent from my primary email account which is a MSExchange account unrelated to the *** Email address is removed for privacy *** email address - although it has the signature of the georgefradley.co.uk email account. The Hotmail settings are correct.

I could recreate the Hotmail Connector account in Outlook but these two issues seem to be related - since they've both  just started to happen.

Any thoughts? Is this a known change in function for custom domains in Outlook.com?

Hope this all makes sense.

Thanks,

George
