Thought I had a solution to this in a recent forum question but it wasn't. I have Windows 7 and Windows Live Essentials and using Windows Live Mail. I want to change my password for signing in to my Windows Live Mail account not Windows Live ID as I
found where that can be changed. I received a suggestion I go to my windows live mail account and properties and then open 'Server' and it would allow me to change my email there but it doesn't as it won't allow me to type anything in the space provided for
email password. Only way I can get anything in that space is check 'remember password box' and my old email password is there (although not in actual word print) and if I retype a new password there it always reverts to my old password even thought I click
apply and then ok at the bottom of that pane.. Another suggestion was I check remember password. Then when I sign in to my Windows Live Mail I am prompted to sign my Windows Live ID which isn't necessary as my email window is open and new mail going in and
I can read it. So that means I am just signed in all the time using my old password again!
Are there any more suggestions out there how to change WLMail password and not the Windows Live ID?
I wanted to change my Windows Live Mail password and went to the help section. I was told how and did it only to find out what that actually changed was my Windows Live ID and did nothing for changing my regular email password as when I signed in with
the new Windows Live ID it still asked for my email password and only way I can get in is using the old password I have had forever. I have looked through all the account information on the Windows Live Mail email site itself and see where I have a password
set but nothing shows in that area nor can I type anything in it.
