Hi,

I am using the window live admin center and trying to prove my domain ownership.

I did created a DNS record but still I see the yellow notification which it says : You need to prove ownership of this domain by creating a DNS record. Use the settings below.

I contacted the technical support of my domain registrar and they say I have done the MX record as it should be.

I also used this answer you provided : http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/oadmincenter-ocustomdom/handling-issues-with-mx-record-or-pending-dns/b722ed21-b20e-40e2-8dbb-26fa12003c32

and still not working.

Please help me fix this and thanks in advance,

David

Hi, I set up custom domain and entered the required MX Entry into my cPanel for Mail Setup.

It has been some time but the yellow box still appears, saying:
"You need to prove ownership of this domain by creating a DNS record. Use the settings below.
You can Cancel service or Edit mail settings"

I have tried several MX Lookup websites and they are able to tell that my DNS has been updated.

Is there another way to prove domain ownership? What happens if ownership is not proven after some time? Will my email stop functioning?

Thank you in advance.
Hello all

I am using Windows Live Admin Center for my domain genshen.com.tw to provide Outlook and Skydrive services to our company.  I created MX records successfully to prove domain ownership, however recently our emails have again been showing as follows:

*** Email address is removed for privacy *** on behalf of XXXX XXXXXXXX (*** Email address is removed for privacy ***) exact emails removed for privacy purposes

I recalled this being an issue before I proved domain ownership, and sure enough having checked the Admin Center it is once again asking for me to provide MX records to provide ownership, even though they were correct just a short time ago (23/9/2013).

I have tried overwriting the MX records with the current (identical) MX records provided in the admin center with no luck - after refreshing it still shows as suspended.

Please can someone confirm what the issue is.
Hi all

I've been trying for a few weeks to get my email transfered over using the domains'live.com and have added in the mx/txt entries to no avail.

I note that the mx records say tehy need to be set to 3600 ttl but i cant do that could that be an issue ?

NB: ive removed the settings and account for now as im away from home but will restart teh whole setup on Thursday.

I've added both the required and recommended MX and TXT records to my domain but am still showing that the request is pending. It displays correctly when viewed with 3rd party diagnostic tools.

I've been working with my hosting provider to see if there was an issue on their end. Even moved the domain from the primary on my account to an add-on as I've been able to register other add-on domains without any issues. No luck.

Moved the nameservers back from the hosting provider to the registrar where I have more control and am still getting the same results. What would be different about this one domain that your system is not accpetine results?

Hi there..

I created a custom email ID in windows live admin center [domains.live.com].

Everything was configured (as per the instructions) and as a result I could successfully verify my domain ownership as well as mail setup.

Right now my account now says "Your service is Active." and there are no errors or pending status.

But when I send a test mail from a different personal account(s) to this account, the mails are failing.

Wondering what the issue is? Anything I missed or need to configure?

Appreciate your help in this regard.

Right now I configured the following:

Mail setup (required: To set up mail and prove ownership of this domain, you must create an MX record through your domain registrar. Use the following settings:

    DNS record type: MX
    Host: stareventsbza.com
    MX server: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx .pamx1.hotmail.com
    TTL: 3600 or 1 hour
    Priority: 10 (or High priority)

Prove domain ownership (optional)
If you would like to prove the ownership of domain and create users without setting up mail, you can use one of the following methods for up to 30 days. After 30 days, you will need to set up an MX record for mail routing as shown above.

If your domain registrar allows you to create TXT records, use these settings:

    DNS record type: TXT
    Host: stareventsbza.com
    Value: v=xxx t=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Server trust (recommended)
Create a TXT record to allow other mail servers to trust email originating from your domain. Also known as sender ID configuration, this setting will help prevent your mail from being marked as junk mail. Use the following settings:

    DNS record type: TXT
    Host: stareventsbza.com
    Value: v=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
TTL: 3600 or 1 hour (if requested)

CNAME:

mail.stareventsbza.com set to go.domains.live.com

Update:

When I see the details of the account I created.. It says... as under. Wondering why the Inbox active is saying NO and is this something we need to change? Where?

Mail status: Enabled

Inbox active: No

Hello
I registered a domain and made the necesssary changes in the dns zone file on godaddy. But i've been waiting for days, i still get a warning saying that i need to prove my domain ownership.
I created the required MX record "XXXX.pam1.hotmail.com", a TXT record with "v=spf1 include:hotmail.com ~all" to prove ownership, and the server trust and messenger configurations. I also read the forum in vain.
My domain is lelynx.net
I have this configured in my DNS. I do not want to add email and MX until I have user accounts created and some mobile phone issues resolved.

  • DNS record type: TXT
  • Host: stipe.co
  • Value: v=msv1 t=f556dd14265d7f4095bd38ad5ee87b

The TXT records is live (see http://www.whatsmyip.us/txt:stipe.co) yet when I hit Refresh, the error will not go away.

Am I doing something wrong? What do I need to do next? Please note: I DO NOT want to change MX at this time.
