Change Default From Email Address with Windows Live Mail 2011

25. May 2014 · Write a comment · Categories: livemail · Tags: default account, Windows Live Mail

I have set my default account to my gmail account but when I create an email it always shows my other email account in the "From" address.  My other email account will only work from a particular city.  So I have to manually change the "From" email address before the send process will work.

How do I get the default "From" address to agree with the default "Account"

Adding an Email account into Live Mail wiped out contacts in first account

I just added an account in Windows Live Mail. I made it the default account. Now it seems that the contacts from my first account are missing, including all of my groups. Is this the way Live Mail works? Is there a work around to get my groups back?

Sent messages are not saved when using secondary account.

We are using a shared email account added in Outlook 2011 for Mac.  It's not the default account but we send from it often.

Messages sent from the default account are saved okay but not the secondary account.

Whenever sending from this secondary mailbox, there seems to be no record of the sent item anywhere.

I verified the message is sent and received.

We are using Outlook 2011 with Exchange 2010.

Outlook 2011 Email Reply Account Not same as Received Account

Following a re-install of Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 version, I'm no longer able to reply to a received email from the same account. Reply emails are defaulting to the default account even though I have the composing preferences set to NOT do this. Does anyone have a fix for this? Would deleting a specific MS preference file (etc) fix this? I tried a database rebuild with no luck. Solutions anyone? Running Outlook v14.3.9 and Mac OSX 10.9.1.

New emails not displayed in Inbox until opened

Hi,

I hope someone can assist with a new problem that has arisen with my Windows Live Mail.

When new emails arrive in my default account the number of unread items shows in brackets alongside 'Inbox', and similarly in  Quick views alongside 'Unread email'.  However if I access the Inbox, no new emails are to be seen.  Only after I click on Unread emails in Quick view and open the email does the email appear in the Inbox of my default account.

I have 3 other email accounts and things appear to be normal in each of those.

Please advise what I can do to fix this weird behaviour,

Thanks,

Roger

Windows Live Mail not accepting my password

I've researched all the help sites, but still can't fix this problem. I recently changed the password on one of my live.com accounts. Now Live Mail won't recognise the correct password (I've done all the suggestions many times, deleted, re-installed, made new password, etc.) It keeps asking me for my password, or if I make it my default account, it says it's wrong. the dialog error box is always blank. the Action dialog box says the action is cancelled. I have no problem accessing the email account on a web browser or on my mobile. but I've always used Windows Live Mail to organised myself. I've check this forum thoroughly & still haven't been able to resolve the problem. any other ideas? I'm using Windows 7 Pro.

Account not sending emails

13. October 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: livemail · Tags: default account, Windows Live Mail Error
I found out about 2 weeks ago that my WLMail default account was not sending emails.
To try and fix it I uninstalled WLMail and reinstalled it but still the account would not send my email.

Here is an example of the error messages:

An unknown error has occurred.

Subject 'Draw data since start of lottery'
Server Error: 550
Server Response: 550 5.2.0 Mail rejete. Mail rejected. ouk_513 [513]
Server: 'smtp.orangehome.co.uk'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC69
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No

Yesterday I wanted to fix this as it is of course very frustrating that WLMAIL is not working properly.
First I did a check ping to the server and this gave this error:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]
Copyright (c) 2009 Microsoft Corporation.  All rights reserved.

C:\Users\Richard>ping mail smtp.orangehome.co.uk
Ping request could not find host mail. Please check the name and try again.

I then contacted my email provider and they checked my account and said there were no problems with it so it must be a WLMail problem and suggested I make a new account. I duly made a new account for my default email and amazingly, it works properly, sending and receiving!
Why has my original default account broken and why can it not be repaired?

I could now delete my original default account and try using the new account but my original account has many folders with message rules I want to preserve and it will be a pain to have to manually make new ones and move the mail over on to the new account! Is there some way I can copy the default account folders and message rules?

I am grateful for comment and help and advice and look forward to replies, thanks

More than one Calendar in Live Mail Client?

01. October 2013 · Write a comment · Categories: livemail · Tags: default account, live mail, Outlook for Office

Hi I'm trying to migrate from Outlook for Office to the Live Mail client.

I have been able to set up multiple email accounts fine (though Live Mail client barks a bit about errors in syncing).  After setting up my multiple email accounts I find that I only have access to the calendar and contacts from my default account.

Is there a way to have the Live Mail 2011 client show multiple calendars and access more than one list of contacts WITHOUT changing the default email address back and forth?  The standard mail program in Win8 does this fine.  What about Live Mail 2011?

Thanks for any clues on this.
